Hello everyone! 🙂
I’d like to give a little review on the film ‘A Royal Night Out’ which I saw recently on Friday night with my parents on DVD.
I saw this film at the cinemas in May 2015. It’s a film to commemorate the 70th anniversary of ‘Victory of Europe’ Day (VE Day). The 8th of May was VE Day back in 1945. It is also the day of my birthday which was the 8th of May 1989.
I’ve really enjoyed this film that is both a comedy-historical drama in itself. It was fun watching history events dramatised on Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret’s venture out of Buckingham Palace to enjoy the celebrations of VE Day in London. It was both fun and interesting indeed.
This film stars Sarah Gadon; Bel Powley; Jack Reynor; Rupert Everett and Emily Watson. All the performances of the cast have been brilliant. I had no idea that that the two princess went out on the town to enjoy VE Day back in 1945, although it’s not an accurate account of events in this movie.
I purchased this movie on DVD for my Dad on his birthday this month in November. It was great to see it again last Friday, full of celebration; fun and plenty of jazz music which is my Dad’s music. This includes music by Glenn Miller with tunes like ‘In the Mood’; ‘Tuxedo Junction’ and ‘American Patrol’.
I recommend purchasing the DVD at yours nearest DVD store or on online. This is a good film to watch.
Thanks for reading.
Tim. 🙂
