Day 3 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

ChristmasDate3

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 3 of ‘Bradley’s Basement‘s Advent Calendar 2015.

It’s time to talk something ‘Doctor Who’ today! These are one of the things I like about ‘Doctor Who’ when watching or listening to it. If you think they’re cuddly, think again as they are deadly!

Yes! That’s right! One of my favourite things about ‘Doctor Who’ is Daleks. I welcome any story I watch or listen to in ‘Doctor Who’ that has Daleks in it. After all, they are what made ‘Doctor Who’ anyway with their evil ways and their cries of “Exterminate!” scaring the living daylights out of kids.

The first time I saw a Dalek was in the 2005 ‘Doctor Who’ episode ‘Dalek’ by Robert Shearman with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler. I had no idea what a Dalek was before I saw ‘Doctor Who’. It scared the living daylights out of me when I was watching this episode.

My favourite Dalek stories in ‘Doctor Who’ are as follows. On TV, there’s ‘The Daleks’; ‘Dalek’; ‘Bad Wolf’/’The Parting of the Ways’ and ‘Army of Ghosts’/’Doomsday’. On audio, there’s ‘The Dalek Contract’/’The Final Phase’; ‘The Mutant Phase’; ‘Plague of the Daleks’ and ‘The Juggernauts’.

Check out my ‘Doctor Who’ reviews on some Dalek stories here on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. These include ‘The Daleks’; ‘Day of the Daleks’; ‘The Four Doctors’; ‘Daleks In Manhattan’/’Evolution of the Daleks’ and Into The Dalek’. I hope to post more reviews on my favourite Dalek stories soon.

The Daleks are a highlight in ‘Doctor Who’. I’m impressed with the designs and the voices for the Daleks provided by Nicholas Briggs, who does Dalek voices for both TV and audio. I’m amazed with how the Daleks keep coming back for new stories in ‘Doctor Who’ and I hope they’ll return soon to TV!

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now.

Tim. 🙂
