Day 4 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

ChristmasDate4

What ho everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 4 of ‘Bradley’s Basement‘s Advent Calendar 2015.

Can you guess what I’m going to share about today? Well if you didn’t get the greeting earlier, then you won’t know this comedy duo and the ITV drama series they starred in which I love watching!

‘Jeeves & Wooster’, starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, is one of my favourite things that I love watching before Christmas. This is a TV series set in the 1930s about a master and his valet with exploits of romantic engagements and eccentric characters. It’s a show that’s very topping indeed!

The TV series is based on the original stories and books by P.G. Wodehouse. I’ve not read many Wodehouse books (the ones I have read include ‘The Code of the Woosters’; ‘Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves’ and the short stories in ‘The World of Jeeves’). But I found this TV series very engaging and thrilling.

The series was shown in the 1990s with four seasons from 1990 to 93. I loved the bumbling, inept manner of Bertie Wooster who’s spoilt and helps his friends out with schemes ending in disasters. Bertie’s well-informed valet Jeeves is always on hand to help his master out when a crisis ensues.

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are brilliant together. I loved watching all four seasons of ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ with them in it. My favourite season is Series 4; one of my favourite episodes includes the one with Sir Roderick and the cats and my favourite supporting character from this series is Spode.

‘Jeeves & Wooster’ helps me get into the spirit of Christmas as I love watching the complete series at around this time. I hope Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie will return to play Jeeves and Wooster in a Christmas special someday.

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now.

Tim. 🙂
