Hello everyone! 🙂
It’s Day 6 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015.
It’s one of my favourite places where I can relax entirely! It has an ethos; a life; a spirit of its own. No I’m afraid I’m not talking about Paris, although I would like to go there someday. 🙂
The place I’m talking about is Bath. No not an actual bath. The city Bath of course. I sometimes go on day trips and weekend breaks to Bath with my parents and I once went there with my best mate from school in the summer of 2012. It doesn’t have a bouquet; but it certainly is a very lovely place.
Bath of course has its legacy. In Roman times, it was called Aquae Sulis where the Romans would bathe in the Roman Baths that’s situated for visitors to see today. It was also the one-time home of romantic author Jane Austen where she wrote her books ‘Northanger Abbey’ and ‘Persuasion’.
I love visiting Bath now and again and enjoy having a Cornish pasty meal there and shopping around the town centre. I also enjoyed visiting the Roman Baths and drank its purifying waters (which doesn’t taste nice at all) and visited ‘The Jane Austen Centre’ with my parents and had tea there.
I’ve written my ‘Doctor Who’ story set in Bath in three time zones in Roman Times; Jane Austen’s time and present day. It was great exploring more about Bath’s history as well as Jane Austen’s when putting it into a ‘Doctor Who’ story. I hope to post my story in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series soon.
Bath is definitely one of my favourite places to visit in the UK. I do enjoy exploring parts of the UK, especially when I go to conventions. Bath is one of my parent’s favourite places too and I hope to visit it again sometime soon. If you plan to go on holiday in 2016, try out the city of Bath sometime.
Thanks for reading.
Bye for now.
