Day 9 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 9 of ‘Bradley’s Basement‘s Advent Calendar 2015.

Today, I’m going to share with you where my family and I go for holidays. It’s a lovely part of the world where the scenery is peaceful and tranquil. I highly recommend going to this place in the UK!

Welcome to Scotland! Yes, I love going to Scotland for my summer holidays with my parents. We usually tend to go to the Highlands at the end of August and the beginning of September. In Scotland there are many beautiful places to see with lots of mountain scenery and plenty of hill-walking to do.

We start our holiday by going early in the night by car from Cardiff. I enjoy the night-time journey as we take it in turns to listen to our music in the car on the way. By dawn, we arrive at a nice hotel where we stay for a few days before going to stay at a cottage in the middle of nowhere for two weeks.

Scotland is very special to me, as I enjoy the peace of mind that comes from going to such a beautiful place. It’s also where one of my favourite shows, the BBC TV series ‘Monarch of the Glen’ was filmed from 2000-2005 in the Scottish Highlands.

The places I have been in Scotland include Edinburgh; Glasgow; Aberdeen; Pitlochry; etc. The ‘Monarch of the Glen’ country locations are actually in Badenoch and Strathspey. I like the Walkers’ shortbread biscuits and getting them as gifts for my friends and family back home from my holiday.

I highly recommend visiting or spending a holiday in Scotland should you be passing. I enjoy going on some of the walks on the hillsides and countryside and seeing the lochs there. The wildlife is also spectacular. If you like nature and enjoy seeing wildlife, you can’t go wrong with going to Scotland.

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now.

Tim. 🙂
