Day 14 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

ChristmasDate14

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 14 of ‘Bradley’s Basement‘s Advent Calendar 2015.

Have you ever wondered what the future’s going to be like in the 23rd; 24th or 25th century? Well, this American US TV series seem to know what that future’s going to be like and it’s very idyllic indeed!

Before ‘Doctor Who’ came back in 2005, I was watching ‘Star Trek’ in 2004. My Dad introduced me to the original series of ‘Star Trek’ with Captain Kirk; Mr Spock and Dr McCoy when he purchased the Season 1 box set on DVD. I loved watching ‘Star Trek’ on DVD and its many incarnations afterwards.

I saw all three seasons of ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’ in late 2004 before seeing the ‘Star Trek’ movies with Kirk; Spock and McCoy during Christmas in 2004 and the early months of 2005. After seeing the original series’, I wanted to see more ‘Star Trek’. I got a chance to see the spin-offs.

I’ve seen all the ‘Star Trek’ spin-off series and movies including ‘The Next Generation’; ‘Deep Space Nine’; ‘Voyager’ and ‘Enterprise’. I love watching those incarnations of ‘Star Trek’. I’m not a fan of the rebooted ‘Star Trek’ movies by J.J. Abrams as I prefer the original cast compared to the latest crew.

My favourite original series TV episodes include ‘The City on the Edge of Forever’ and ‘The Trouble with Tribbles’. My favourite ‘Star Trek’ monster is the Borg and my favourite ‘Star Trek’ movie is ‘Star Trek: First Contact’.

I’ve met a few ‘Star Trek’ stars at conventions including Brent Spiner (Data from ‘TNG’); Alice Krige (The Borg Queen from ‘Star Trek: First Contact’) and Max Grodénchik (Rom from ‘DS9’). I’m still a Trekkie, despite being a ‘Doctor Who’ fan these days and continue to go boldly where no one has gone before….

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now.

Tim. 🙂
