Hello everyone! 🙂
It’s Day 20 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015.
Remember Day 4 when I talked about ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ as one of my favourite comedy duos? I also mentioned another comedy duo I like. I love seeing these two ‘idiots’ in their films and shorts…
‘Laurel & Hardy’ are a great double act. Stan and Ollie are so funny together and they never stop the world laughing with their antics and bumbling in their series of films and shorts. My best mate from school loves ‘Laurel & Hardy’ and we both enacted our favourite ‘L&H’ stories when we were at school.
Dad introduced me to ‘Laurel & Hardy’ when I was a kid at primary school. I loved watching these two when my parents and I had them on VHS in the 90s. Stan and Ollie were in silent films and talkies made in black-and-white during the 1920s and 30s and are the best comedy duo ever known.
‘Laurel & Hardy’s films are now on DVD and you can see two versions of their films including the black-and-white and colour versions. Comedy today isn’t like the comedy that ‘Laurel & Hardy’ did back in those days. I prefer L&H’s comedy as their stuff is the best; funniest and makes me laugh-out-loud compared to comedies today.
My favourite ‘Laurel & Hardy’ films include ‘Way Out West’; ‘Sons of the Desert’ and ‘Our Relations’. My favourite ‘Laurel & Hardy’ short film is ‘The Music Box’. My best mate and I did our own version of ‘The Music Box’ when we were at school and called it ‘The Tool Box’ which was a lot of fun to do.
‘Laurel & Hardy’ will always be one of my favourite comedy duos from the black-and-white days of American film history. You can’t beat the classic comedy that Stan and Ollie did back then. I highly recommend this duo if you want to laugh.
Thanks for reading.
Bye for now.
