Day 22 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

ChristmasDate22

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 22 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015.

Here’s another one of my favourite movie trilogies! It’s one of the best ever made in movie history and is wonderfully well-adapted from the books and well-directed by an amazing filmmaking team.

‘The Lord of the Rings’ is an epic, fantasy trilogy set in Middle-Earth about a quest to destroy the One Ring of power. Based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien, this movie trilogy has won the hearts of millions of fans and I immensely love watching the film trilogy via the special extended edition DVDs.

My parents and I saw the first film, ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ when we were lent the DVD from neighbours in 2002. I wasn’t hooked into the film back then when I saw it. But in 2003, I re-watched ‘Fellowship’ and saw ‘The Two Towers’ and ‘The Return of the King’ and loved the trilogy so instantly.

2003 brings back happy memories for me. I saw ‘The Return of the King’ at the cinemas before Christmas 2003 and it became my favourite film out of the trilogy as I re-watched it again and again. I watched the extended versions of all three films and enjoyed the extra scenes featured in them.

Director Peter Jackson and his amazing team of filmmakers in New Zealand have done a fantastic job making this movie trilogy full of epic fantasy value. Recently, Peter Jackson’s film-making team returned to Middle-Earth when they made ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy in 2012-2014 which was great to see!

I’ve posted DVD reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy and on the radio series on my Middle-Earth page on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. I hope to post DVD reviews on ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy soon. ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is a movie trilogy that I highly recommend as I immensely enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

Thanks vinnieh. Very pleased you like this trilogy. It’s one of the best and whilst ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy was good, it’s not a patch brilliant as ‘The Lord of the Rings’. Greatly appreciate your comments. Tim. 🙂

I’ve watched the first and second Hobbit and will soon see the third. And while they have greatness, they just can’t match the Lord of the Rings. If you check out my site, I have reviewed the trilogy.
