Day 24 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015

ChristmasDate24

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 24 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015.

We’ve come to the end of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2015! How sad is that? To finish off, it’s time to talk festive as here we are on Christmas Eve and it’s a very special day tomorrow!

Christmas is a time for sharing with family and having presents. But spare a thought for a moment, as to what the true meaning of Christmas is about. For many, it will be Santa Claus; reindeer; snowmen and snow. But for me, it’s the Nativity story and the birth of baby Jesus that does it for me.

As a Christian, I grew up with knowing about the Nativity story where Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem and Jesus, the son of God was born in a stable. This is a very special story about the first Christmas as Jesus was born in his life to save many people for their sins by dying on the cross for us.

I love watching ‘The Nativity Story’ film that was released at cinemas in 2006 and I can now watch it on DVD. The story of Jesus’ birth is important to me at Christmas as it’s the greatest story ever told and he was a gift of love for everyone. The Nativity story is still performed by so many people today.

In saying that, I do like watching Christmas films like ‘The Santa Clause’ trilogy; ‘Elf’ and ‘The Polar Express’ as they’re great films to watch at Christmas. I also like watching the TV specials of BBC sitcoms and look forward to seeing the ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special on Christmas Day every year.

I’m looking forward to celebrating Christmas this year with my parents and remembering the story of Jesus’ birth tomorrow. Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. It’s fun to enjoy receiving and giving presents to people, but the story of Jesus Christ’s birth is the best thing of all!

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
