Hello everyone! 🙂

I’ve seen the third of three birthday presents from my best mate from school, Stephen.

‘The Fifth Element’ is a science-fiction film that I’ve enjoyed watching and found very interesting. It stars Bruce Willis as the main action hero Korben Dallas and is directed by Lue Beeson. There are plenty of interesting elements regarding the plot and some moments of comedy that I found pretty bizarre.

The story is set in the 23rd Century. Not exactly the ‘Star Trek’-styled future like I’ve seen in ‘The Original Series’ with Captain Kirk and Mr Spock. It’s more like the ‘Back to the Future’ style of future, as there are lots of flying cars, including police cars and taxis. But it’s an interesting version of the 23rd Century.

‘The Fifth Element’ has Bruce Willis star as a retired army officer turned into a taxi cab driver. He gets the shock of his life when a red haired girl drops into his cab. The girl is Milla Jovovich as Leeloo. She’s the Fifth Element, who is meant to save the world with four stones against a very terrifying evil force.

I liked some of the cast in this film, including Ian Holm (who I’ve seen play Bilbo Baggins in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy) as Father Vito Cornelius. There’s also Gary Oldman as the villainous Zorg, who I found frightening and funny. I loved it when he did a comedy moment about not having the stones.

‘The Fifth Element’ has been a enjoyable movie to check out. There were moments that I found pretty bizarre in it and I didn’t like Chris Tucker as talk-show host Ruby Rhod, as I found him pretty annoying. But all in all, it’s a good action-packed sci-fi movie with Bruce Willis and I liked the romantic elements in it too.

Thanks for reading.

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

I loathed Chris Tuckers character in this movie, i wish there was a cut of the movie in which he didn’t appear in.

Apart from that this is a pretty good sci-fi film.

Nice review Tim, i think you’d enjoy the movie Outland starring Sean Connery.

Thanks Simon. Glad you enjoyed my DVD review on ‘The Fifth Element’.

Yeah Chris Tucker’s performance in the movie rather spoiled it for me. Everything else with Bruce Willis and Ian Holm was fine for me. But that talk-host show character didn’t do it for me. I’m glad you agree with me. 😀

I’ll look out for the movie ‘Outland’ starring Sean Connery. It sounds interesting.

    Thanks. Tim. 🙂
