Holiday Report – Weston-super-Mare (August 2016)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Recently I attended the ‘Stars of Time Film and Comic Con 2016 @ The Tropicana’, which you check out in my convention report via the link. I also spent some time in Weston-super-Mare over the Bank Holiday weekend from Friday to Monday. Here are some photographic memories of that weekend!

On Saturday, I went to see the Disney/Pixar movie ‘Finding Dory’ with the short film ‘Piper’ at the ODEON cinema. It was good to see that movie again at the cinema, before going to the ‘Stars of Time’ event the following day. I also went on a big wheel ride right outside the Premier Inn where I was staying. I took photos of a steam train model in a garden that was outside the ODEON cinema.

Sunday was the ‘Stars of Time Film and Comic Con’ event at the Tropicana, but you can read more about that in the above link.

On Monday, I went on a bus tour that took us around the coast of Weston-super-Mare. I took plenty of photos of the scenery whilst on that bus tour. I also went inside the Grand Pier; walked alongside the sea front; went on the ‘Wild Mouse’ roller coaster ride and dodgems at the ‘Funland Theme Park’; and went on the big wheel ride again outside the Premier Inn twice in the afternoon and evening.

The weather was pretty good during the time I spent in Weston-super-Mare that weekend. It was very busy with so many people there, considering it was the Bank Holiday weekend in August. But thankfully it wasn’t raining and it was very sunny on both Sunday and Monday that weekend. I enjoyed having sausages and chips at Weston-super-Mare and having ice-cream cones with a flake.

The August Bank Holiday weekend was very enjoyable for me overall. The highlight was the ‘Stars of Time’ event, but I enjoyed exploring more of Weston-super-Mare. If only I had time to explore the Winter Gardens; visit the churches and go on the Elena May train ride. But you can’t have it all, hey?

Check out the photos of my weekend in Weston-super-Mare.

Enjoy!

Thanks for reading!

Tim. 🙂

  1. Hi Tim

I read your Convention report, and I can see that you had a great time there. It’s nice that you had extra days to spend having a look at other things at Weston-super-Mare, it looks like you had a great time on all the attractions, and taking photos of interesting things.

The sausage and chips, and ice cream sounds especially nice!

From the photos, it looks as though you did have great weather, which is excellent, and it must have meant that you could really enjoy the whole three days with various activities the whole time. Some of the photos look as they’re from the top of the wheel, that looks like fun. I can see that Cuddles had his photos taken from some of the same places, so the two of you must have had lots of fun.

I’m really glad you had a nice weekend away, Tim, and that your time at the Convention was also fun.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi Leigh.

Glad you enjoyed both my Convention Report of ‘Stars of Time’ and my Holiday Report in Weston-super-Mare. Glad you enjoyed reading my posts. Thanks for sharing your feedback.

What highlights and photos did you like from my Convention Report?

I’m glad you liked my photos of Weston-super-Mare. I certainly enjoyed my weekend there. I’m pleased I was able to take some photos of the area whilst also going to the convention that weekend.

Yes the food was good there at WSM. I indulged myself with chips, sausages and ice cream yes. But it was nice sunny weather there, so I couldn’t help myself. 😀

I enjoyed going for rides on the big wheel and so did Cuddles too, yes. It was really nice to explore the area, and I’m pleased the sun was out when I was there. Some of the photos I took of WSM were from up high on the big wheel, so it was good to do that.

Thanks for your comments, Leigh. I’m pleased you enjoyed my latest blog posts.

    Tim. 🙂
