Day 1 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 1 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016.

Let’s start things right with a celebratory video about ‘Doctor Who’! 🙂

In 2013, ‘Doctor Who’ celebrated its 50th anniversary! It has been three years since that memorable event and it’s amazing that ‘Doctor Who’ is still continuing to this day. One of my favourite YouTube videos is this celebratory video about the 50th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ by the channel Babelcolour.

This video covers the first fifty years of the history of ‘Doctor Who’ by showing all the TV episodes shown from 1963 to 2013. It also shows the spin-offs inspired by the series as well as items of ‘Doctor Who’ in character either on-line, on TV and on film. This is a very lovely tribute to the series.

The first time I saw this type of video was when I attended the ‘Regenerations 2010’ convention in Swansea, September 2010. It has changed over the years from 2008 to 2011. This is the latest version of that tribute video. I’m sure it’ll be updated soon with more ‘Doctor Who’ episodes to add.

The incidental music provided in this video is the song ‘Whorhythmics’ by JeX, which is a ‘Doctor Who’ take on the song ‘Sweet Dreams’ by Eurythmics. The video also features Sylvester McCoy’s version of the Pandorica speech and Colin Baker’s version of the speech from ‘The Rings of Akhaten’.

This video, ‘Every Doctor Who Story – The First 50 Years by Babelcolour’ is a great tribute to celebrate ‘Doctor Who’. It’s become one of my favourites on YouTube and I especially like this latest one with the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric and their BBC1 Christmas Message shown in 1981.

Thanks for watching and reading!
