Day 5 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 5 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016.

What do Daleks and CGI animation have in common?!

No, not ‘The Power of the Daleks’ I’m afraid. This is a video of an animated scene of a ‘Doctor Who’ audio called ‘Plague of the Daleks’. It’s the third story of ‘The Stockbridge Trilogy’ of ‘Doctor Who’ by Big Finish and it stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor with Sarah Sutton as Nyssa of Traken.

I’ve seen a number of animated scenes of various Big Finish audio dramas of ‘Doctor Who’. Most of the animated scenes feature Daleks and Cybermen in them. I enjoy seeing those scenes, as they help me visualise what the stories could look like if they were made for TV and whether the audios can be animated.

I’ve chosen this animated scene of ‘Plague of the Daleks’ by rdjackson87 on YouTube for you to see, because it contains the complete first scene with Daleks from the story. I’m very impressed with the animation of this Dalek scene from the story and I do like the usage of the new series Daleks in it.

‘Plague of the Daleks’ is part of a trilogy of stories from ‘Doctor Who’ by Big Finish with the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa that has become one of my favourites. I love listening to all three stories of ‘The Stockbridge Trilogy’ including ‘Castle of Fear’, ‘The Eternal Summer’ and ‘Plague of the Daleks’ itself.

This ‘Plague of the Daleks’ animation scene that I found on YouTube helps to add to the enjoyment of those Big Finish stories and is a little added extra for me. I would like to see my favourite Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’ turned into audio dramas. This can be done, as proved from this video here.

Thanks for watching and reading!
