Hello everyone! 🙂
It’s Day 8 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016’.
What do Harry Hill and sausages have in common?
BBC Three’s ‘Young Butcher of the Year’ shown in 2009! One of my favourite times when my parents and I visited my Nana in Newport when she was alive, was watching Harry Hill’s ‘TV Burp’ on Saturday evenings on ITV1. I miss seeing that TV show as it’s sadly not being shown anymore on ITV1.
Harry Hill’s ‘TV Burp’ was a show about mocking each week’s TV programmes shown on channels like BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, etc. Harry was very good in gently mocking the TV programmes including the soap operas like ‘Coronation Street’ or game shows like ‘Hole in the Wall’.
This video I’ve chosen for today contains a segment from one of Harry Hill’s ‘TV Burp’ shows from 2009. It’s one of my favourite segments about a cookery-styled competition show called ‘Young Butcher of the Year’. It was really about the BBC finding who was the best young butcher in the UK! 😀
I liked how Harry gently mocks the TV programme on various levels. This includes the show’s catchphrase, spotting one of the candidates who looks like him, someone making a Viking ship out of meat and that the clock now says ‘sausage o’clock’! It’s very tongue-in-cheek at times from this video!
Of course you can’t have a very good Harry Hill ‘TV Burp’ episode without a fight before the break, can you? And there’s definitely a ‘FIGHT!!!’ to look out for in this video. This Harry Hill ‘TV Burp’ video is one of my favourites from YouTube and I can’t deny sausages are one of my favourite foods.
Thanks for watching and reading!
