Day 11 – Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016

Hello everyone! 🙂

It’s Day 11 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016’.

What do ‘Doctor Who’ and music composer Bert Kaempfert have in common?

This video apparently! 😀 Here is another entertaining video that features everything that is comedic and funny about ‘Doctor Who’. I first saw this at the ‘Regenerations 2011’ convention in Swansea. It helped to cheer us up after we’d seen the tribute videos for Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen.

‘Doctor Who’ is not a comedy by any means. But it is nice to see occasional videos that sometimes take the mick out of the show that we love so much. I enjoyed this video especially, as it features comedic moments in ‘Doctor Who’ that are both from the classic series and the new series together.

This video was made by Babelcolour, who are very good at making impressive ‘Doctor Who’-related videos. I enjoyed the mishmash of familiar and funny lines of some of the Doctors and companions. There are plenty of Tom Baker moments as well as with David Tennant, Matt Smith and Jon Pertwee.

The incidental music provided in this video is from the jazz number ‘That Happy Feeling’ by Bert Kaempfert. This was the highlight of the video for me, as I enjoy hearing that familiar jazz number that my Dad plays in the car or on a CD player. Both ‘Doctor Who’ and jazz music work well together in this.

‘Doolally Who’ by Babelcolour is really funny to watch on YouTube. It helps to cheer me up whenever I feel low. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this video too, since it celebrates the best about ‘Doctor Who’ in general and it has also helped me as a ‘Doctor Who’ fan to see the funny side of life at times.

Thanks for watching and reading!
