Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It was an exciting time for me as a ‘Doctor Who’ fan last weekend! On Saturday the 15th of July 2017, I attended the ‘GEEKS Salisbury Comic Con’ at City Hall in Salisbury. It was a successful day trip for me as I got to see my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stars: Sarah Sutton; Peter Davison and Colin Baker!
It was a straight-forward journey from home in Cardiff to Salisbury on the train, as I didn’t have to stay overnight and I came back home safely once the day was over. It was lovely to catch up with Sarah, Peter and Colin at the comic con and I had some lovely chats with the stars for three signing sessions.
Here are some highlights of the day for me!
First, I took some photos of the Sons of Skaro attending the comic con. These were Dalek props brought in at the comic con for people to enjoy seeing. I was pleased to see my favourite bronze Dalek from the new series. The Sons of Skaro were invading Salisbury with their “EXTERMINATE!”s 😀
There were lots of cosplayers at the comic con, including ‘Transformer’ cosplayers like Bumblebee and Barricade. They had the Barricade car from the Michael Bay movies of ‘Transformers’ there and had a giant version of Pikachu from ‘Pokémon’. I took photos of these while I was at the comic con.
It was lovely to see my best friend from ‘Doctor Who’, Sarah Sutton, again at the comic con. Sarah had a cold that day I’m afraid, but she remain cheerful and chatty when I saw her. I had some merchandise signed by Sarah including convention photos and I had a ‘selfie’ photo with Sarah, which I’m very happy about.
It was great to see Peter Davison at the comic con too. I found myself chatting a lot with Peter about his acting career as well as ‘Doctor Who’, including his appearance in the ‘Grantchester’ episode from Series 3. I had some Big Finish CD covers signed by Peter, as well as having a ‘selfie’ photo with him.
At the comic con, I had the vinyl cover of ‘Spare Parts’ signed by both Peter and Sarah. It was a great sharing with Peter and Sarah how I enjoyed the vinyl version of the story and they were intrigued how I got to listen to it. I told them that my Dad had his record player so I was able to play it on that.
It was also great to see Colin Baker again at the comic con. As well as having a ‘selfie’ photo with Colin, I also had some CD covers of Big Finish audios signed by him as well as the DVD cover of ‘Arc of Infinity’. I enjoyed chatting to Colin about the episode of ‘Star Trek Continues’ that he starred in.
I also chatted to Peter and Colin about working on ‘The Airzone Solution’ film in 1993. I’d watched ‘The Airzone Solution’ in the week before going to the Salisbury Comic Con. It was interesting to hear their thoughts on doing the film and I enjoyed sharing how I enjoyed it and yet found it confusing. 😀
With Sarah, Peter and Colin, I got the chance to chat with them about the Adam West ‘Batman’ TV series from the 1960s. They shared how much they enjoyed watching that version of ‘Batman’ and I enjoyed telling them how I’m currently enjoying it at the moment, even though it is so daft and silly.
Whilst at the comic con, I chatted to some people at a merchandise stall and purchased an action figure of Spider-Man from the ‘Spider-Man 2’ film in 2004. I’m very pleased with my purchase and am keeping my new action figure of Spider-Man as a souvenir from the ‘Salisbury Comic Con’. I also had a set of two ‘Batman’ egg cups. I’m looking forward to having my boiled eggs in those egg cups.
I also had a souvenir item given to me by the organisers of the comic con. This was a piece of ‘Doctor Who’ artwork by artist Grant Perkins, featuring the Fifth and Sixth Doctors to celebrate Peter Davison and Colin Baker’s attendance at the comic. I do like Frobisher sitting on top of the TARDIS. 🙂
‘GEEKS Salisbury Comic Con’ was a successful day trip for me. I enjoyed seeing Sarah Sutton, Peter Davison and Colin Baker and am pleased with the chats I had; the items I had signed and the ‘selfie’ photos I had signed with them. I’m so looking forward to seeing them again at the next convention!
By the way, I’ve updated some ‘Doctor Who’ reviews with new signed CD/DVD covers and photos with the stars. They include ‘Cold Fusion’ (TV) and ‘Arc of Infinity’ (TV).
I also had my story covers for ‘The Space Hotel’; ‘Doom of the Daleks’ and ‘The Tree of Riverloth’ from ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ fan-fiction series signed by Sarah Sutton at the ‘Salisbury Comic Con’. Check them out!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂

Hi Simon.
Glad you enjoyed my convention report for the Salisbury Comic Con I went to.
It was lovely seeing Sarah Sutton again and having chats with her as well as with Peter Davison and Colin Baker. Glad you love the photos. I should have taken more of the cosplayers at the comic con! Glad you like my Spider-Man action figure. I had some boiled eggs with my Batman egg cups yesterday! 😀
Thanks for sharing the link for the ‘Spider-Man’ hot toy. Those action figures on the link look impressive and interesting. Don’t know whether I’ll buy them or not, but they’re still pretty good.
Thanks.
Tim. 🙂
