New Fifth Doctor Era Painting by Timelord007

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Timelord007 has done it again with another ‘Doctor Who’ painting he did for me. Check out this latest painting on the Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’, which is my absolute favourite era, on my blog.

For those of you who don’t know (although I’m sure you do if you’ve been following my blog), Timelord007, also known as Simon Rogers, supports my ‘Doctor Who’ reviews and stories on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ as well as the blog itself. This is the fourth ‘Doctor Who’ painting he did for me.

Simon knows my love for Nyssa/Sarah Sutton and the Fifth Doctor era as well as ‘Doctor Who’ in general. I always get a nice surprise when he does these paintings for me as they’re so completely unexpected. I’m very pleased with how he has done this painting, which depicts the Fifth Doctor era.

With kind permission, Simon has allowed me to share this painting of the Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ here on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

Simon has done paintings on ‘Doctor Who’ characters on his Google+ page, including the Doctors: Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, David Tennant, etc. He’s also done plenty of paintings on his favourite movie characters, including superheroes like Superman, Batman and Spider-Man, which I’ve liked.

This painting on the Fifth Doctor era features characters including the Doctor himself, as well as his companions Nyssa, Tegan, Adric, Turlough and Peri. This is based on a recent image of the Fifth Doctor era and one which I’ve used myself, as it’s included in my review of ‘The Caves of Androzani’.

I’m not an expert on art, but I like the colour schemes used by Simon to recreate this image of the Fifth Doctor era with his companions. As I understand it, Simon attempted to capture the souls of the main characters of the era in his picture. I greatly appreciate the kind gesture by Simon on this.

Simon informed me that he painted the Raston Warrior Robot, but missed Kamelion, a short-time companion of the Fifth Doctor, out of the picture completely. This I don’t mind, as I prefer the Raston Warrior Robot to Kamelion anyway. For me, the thing missing in the picture is Billy Walker. 😀

Thanks Simon. This is a great Fifth Doctor painting!

Here is a gallery of Timelord007/Simon’s Nyssa paintings featured on my blog from 2016 to 2017. These include Nyssa paintings from ‘Black Orchid’, ‘Time-Flight’ and ‘Snakedance’ painting! Enjoy!

I’m still waiting for a painting by Timelord007 featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy from my ‘Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series! 😀 Although of course he might find it difficult to get a good likeness of me…OH WAIT!!!!

Timelord007 is also a huge fan of the Fourth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker! Stay tuned for a crossover review by me and Timelord007 on a ‘Doctor Who’ story, featuring the Fourth Doctor.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

  1. I never know what I’ll paint or when as i share a love/loathe relationship ship with my art, i use a mixture of oils, acrylics or paint pens which help refine the details & shading.

I enjoyed our collaboration on our Fourth Doctor review Tim i like how our different styles of reviewing worked well together.

I’m glad you enjoyed the painting Tim it maybe my last one for a while because of personal family reasons but one day i might come back.

  2. Hi Simon.

I’m very impressed with the artwork you do and how you interpret something using the oils, acrylics and paint pens you have. I know it’s not an exact creation of the things you paint, but it’s nice seeing how you interpret imagery with the details and shades you refine.

Thanks very much for your paintings and allowing me to share them on my ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog. I look forward to when you do another painting. I know it won’t be for a while, but I look forward to be surprised when the time comes and when you’re able to do another painting for me.

I will be posting our Fourth Doctor review sometime in October. I want to post three ‘Doctor Who’ DVD reviews first before we post our review. But rest assured, it will be on the blog sometime soon.

    Thanks again, Simon.

    Tim. 🙂
