Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
My Dad gave my Mum a Blu-ray edition of ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ for Christmas! We watched this film on Boxing Day this year! I have to say, this film is pretty good! This has an action-packed plot that I could follow and easily enjoy and it had a great cast led by Tom Cruise as the hero.
‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ is the fifth film in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie franchise. I’m not really a follower of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies and have only seen the first one. But watching this movie has been a great experience as it’s full of drama, action, adventure and humour.
Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who attempts to prove the existence of the Syndicate, an international criminal consortium denied by the CIA. He sets out on a search for the evil leader of the Syndicate named Solomon Lane with help from his friends as well as a mysterious sexy spy lady.
As well as Tom Cruise, there’s also Simon Pegg (who I think is brilliant) as Benji Dunn. There’s also Jeremy Renner (who played Hawkeye in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’) as William Brandt and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. I could identify Cruise, Pegg, Renner and Rhames as a unit in this film.
There’s also Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, the mysterious sexy spy lady who sometimes helps Ethan Hunt and his team and sometimes betrays him. I couldn’t get over how many twists and turns there were for Ilsa Faust’s character as you weren’t sure whether she was with the good guys or not.
There’s Alec Baldwin (who I remember in ‘Thomas and the Magic Railroad’) as Alan Hunley, director of the CIA. There’s also Sean Harris as the villainous Solomon Lane who’s second-in-command of the Syndicate. There is also Tom Hollander as the Prime Minister of the UK in this film.
‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ has been a very enjoyable film. As a Blu-ray, it was an interesting experience. I don’t know if you can tell much difference if my parents and I saw this movie on DVD. But the movie does have good picture and sound quality which is what you want on Blu-ray.
So far, my parents and I are hoping to get more into these ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies. We’ll have to do some catching up with the previous films, but I now know there’s going to be a ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ released in July next year. I’m sure my parents and I will watch that film at the cinema.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
