Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.
Here we are again, as the Easter weekend has come for 2018 and it is Good Friday today! I’m sure many of you are looking forward to hot cross buns and enjoying a relaxing day today, as I am too. I’d like to share the true meaning of Easter with you, but this time I am going to do it a little differently.
Last year, I found this really exciting and unusual picture on Facebook. Check it out to see below.
The photo is of someone wearing a T-shirt. But on the T-shirt is a comic book image of Jesus Christ chatting with many of the well-known, well-loved superheroes from the Marvel and DC Comics. They include Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, the Flash, Iron Man and Wolverine. This also has Jesus saying to them “…And that’s how I saved the world!” in the caption.
Seeing this image was amazing for me, as I wish that did happen with Jesus talking to superheroes that I know and love like Spidey, Superman, Batman, etc. But the most important thing about this picture for me is that it reminds me, out of all the superheroes, Jesus is the one who’s the best of all.
Good Friday is a great day to remember that Jesus Christ, God’s son, died on the cross to save us from our sins. This is the most amazing and powerful thing that Jesus has ever done for us to save humanity. He died on the cross for us because he loved us, even as we did bad things in God’s sight.
Three days after his death on the cross, Jesus rose to life. This tells us that we can be saved by Jesus if we believe in him and we can have eternal life with him in God’s kingdom in heaven. Jesus is the greatest superhero ever since he has saved the world by defeating death and being raised up to life.
My favourite Bible verse is “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life!” John Chapter 3 verse 16. I still love that Bible verse and keep abiding by it, as I know that I will be saved by Jesus and taken up into his father’s kingdom. I’ve no need to fear death since I know Jesus died for me and I can live with him.
Many people forget the wonderful, true meaning of the Easter story, which seems to be a bleak story especially on Good Friday. Jesus’ disciples didn’t think Jesus would be brought back to life after his death on the cross. But the wonderful resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday is very reassuring.
I hope you like the Jesus superheroes photo I’ve shared today and I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of Good Friday!
Happy Easter everyone!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
