Basement News – July 2018

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re in July now! June wasn’t a particularly exciting month for me, but I’ve recently enjoyed the sunny heat-wave we had in Cardiff. I’m looking forward to finding out what’s in store for July. Will it be an exciting month? I certainly hope so as there are some exciting things to look forward to this July.

Here’s the preview for the month and beyond!

I’ve begun reshaping my ‘Doctor Who’ pages on my blog. They’ve all been collected under one main ‘Doctor Who’ page which was originally the ‘Doctor Who Reviews’ page. They also have the new ‘Doctor Who’ logo banner from the TV series. The collected ‘Doctor Who’ pages include the ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ with reviews, ‘The Nyssa Challenge’, ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ and more.

Regarding ‘Doctor Who’ reviews, I’ve added my latest reviews on ‘Fury From The Deep’, ‘The Wheel In Space’ and ‘The Dominators’ with Patrick Troughton as well as ‘Ghost Light’ and ‘Survival’ with Sylvester McCoy. For this month, I’ll be making a start on reviewing Series 9 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Peter Capaldi. I will also be reviewing ‘The Ark’ and ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ with William Hartnell.

I’m currently reading through the new Target novelizations of ‘Doctor Who’. These are four stories from the new TV series. I’m reading and listening to ‘Rose’ with the Ninth Doctor as we speak. Stay tuned for a review. I look forward to read/listen to ‘The Christmas Invasion’ with the Tenth Doctor’, ‘The Day of the Doctor’ with the Eleventh Doctor and ‘Twice Upon A Time’ with the Twelfth Doctor.

I’ve also been revisiting ‘Nyssa Challenge’ pages including updating reviews; adding articles and adding Timelord007’s paintings of Nyssa to my galleries. Find out more in my quick notes for ‘The Crowded TARDIS’ & ‘Would ‘Kinda’ work with Nyssa in it?’; ‘Black Orchid’, ‘Time-Flight’; and ‘Snakedance’. There’s also a DVD special feature review on ‘Grim Times’ from ‘The Visitation’.

In June, I started a repeat of ‘The Salvador Trilogy’ in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series. This started with ‘The Austen Code’ and the Short Trip called ‘The Victorian Vampires’. For July, ‘The Salvador Trilogy’ repeat will continue with ‘Junglos 4198’. I’m currently writing a new Short Trip called ‘Fred and the Sixth’ featuring the Sixth Doctor. This new Short Trip will come soon to my blog.

My ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Review Season’ has finished. All my reviews for Phase One including ‘Iron Man’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, ‘Iron Man 2’, ‘Thor’, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and ‘Avengers Assemble’ have been added to my blog. I will be doing a ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Review Season 2’ sometime later this year which will focus on Phase 2 of the series. Stay tuned!

This year it’s the 50th anniversary of the classic BBC TV sitcom series, ‘Dad’s Army’. I’m currently re-watching the TV series as well as listening to and reviewing the radio series concurrently. This month in July, my parents and I will be going to see the stage performance of ‘Dad’s Army’ at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. I have also reviewed the TV/animation and radio version of ‘A Stripe For Frazer’.

Check out my movie reviews on ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’; ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ and ‘Patrick’ (2018). For movies this July, I’m looking forward to seeing ‘Incredibles 2’, ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’. Stay tuned for my movies reviews on those pretty soon.

That’s all from me on a preview for ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in July and beyond. I know I said June wasn’t particularly exciting for me, but I’m hoping July will be a better month to get excited about. Will there be a convention for me to go to with Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison. I’ll wait and see. 😀

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
