Basement News – August 2018

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s August this month and there’s quite a lot to look forward to for the rest of the year. July was pretty exciting in terms of movies at the cinema and such. What’s in store for August this month? I hope it’ll be interesting and exciting as the last month. Let’s find out as we take a preview on August.

Regarding ‘Doctor Who’, I’ve added my latest reviews on the first half of Series 9 with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. I will be adding my reviews on the second half of Series 9 sometime soon. I also hope to add my reviews on ‘The Ark’ and ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ with William Hartnell, Peter Purves and Jackie Lane and my review on ‘The Mutants’ with Jon Pertwee and Katy Manning soon.

As of today, I’m in the middle of reading the new Target novelizations of ‘Doctor Who’ on four stories from the new TV series. I’ve read and listened to the Target novelizations/audiobooks of ‘Rose’ and ‘The Christmas Invasion’. I’ve added my reviews on the novelizations/audiobooks to the TV reviews on the tales. My next reviews will be on ‘The Day of the Doctor’ and ‘Twice Upon A Time’.

The repeat of ‘The Salvador Trilogy’ from ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series continued in July with the second story, ‘Junglos 4198’. This month of August sees ‘The Salvador Trilogy’ repeat continues with the third story, ‘Chieftain’s Caves’. I’ve scheduled a new Short Trip called ‘Fred and the Doctor’ with the Sixth Doctor in September 2018. Will I be contributing another tale sometime soon?

I’ve added a new page to my blog called ‘The World of Roald Dahl’. I’ve done my ‘Roald Dahl Film Review Season’ for July, focusing one four film adaptations of Roald Dahl’s books. They’re ‘James and the Giant Peach’, ‘Danny the Champion of the World’, ‘Matilda’ and ‘Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory’. I’ve also updated my ‘Laurel & Hardy’ pages on my blog.

Check out my movie reviews on ‘Incredibles 2’ with ‘Bao’‘Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’. Also check out my theatre reviews on the Everyman Theatre Company productions of ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ at the Open Air Festival in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

There’s also my DVD special features reviews on ‘Doctor Who: The Ultimate Documentaries’. I’ve also completed my reviews on Season 1 of ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ as well as on the complete series of ‘Oh Doctor Beeching!’ and Series 1 of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’.

There’s still no news of me going to a convention with Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton in attendance. But I will be going to the ‘Destination Star Trek’ convention at the NEC Birmingham in October 2018. I look forward to seeing the guests there including William Shatner, Jeri Ryan, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Marina Sirtis, etc.

I’m also going to go on holiday with my parents in September to Amroth in West Wales for a third year running. I know I’ve done holiday reports in the past for the holidays to Amroth in 2016 and 2017, but I hope to do something different from my third time going to Amroth. Stay tuned for that.

That’s everything I’ve got to say about a preview for ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in August and beyond. At this point, I’m not sure what other exciting things there are to look forward to towards the end of the year. But I pray and hope that the future will be good and there’ll be more pretty exciting things to look forward to.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
