Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Last year, I said that I needed to go somewhere different for my summer holiday instead of Amroth for 2018. How ironic that my summer holiday with my parents this year happened to be at…Amroth in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. (Pause) I have to persuade my parents to go to Scotland for 2019. 😀
Surprisingly though, we didn’t do exactly the same things as before in my two previous Amroth holidays for 2016 and 2017. Despite me pointing out we’ve been to Amroth three times already, I am grateful for a break and spending a week in a caravan in Amroth for my summer holiday is a good a break as any. This holiday break of ours took place from Sunday the 2nd to Friday the 7th of September this year.
So, what did we do differently this year for a holiday in Amroth, September 2018 as opposed to previous years? Well, I hope to share that as well as the evening entertainment we had! This mostly consisted of movies to watch on my tablet as well as audios on MP3 players that I brought with me.
The caravan we stayed in this for this year in Amroth was different compared to the previous two years. It was brand-new with new facilities; new kitchen and new bedrooms for my parents and me to sleep in. I certainly enjoyed my holiday in Amroth, West Wales for this year. It goes by too quickly!
Also, I got the chance to use my new Samsung mobile phone to take camera photos of our family holiday. Dad got to use his new Samsung mobile phone too. With his permission, I’ve used both photos done by me as well as him to include in this holiday report for Amroth, West Wales this year.
In terms of the weather for the holiday we had, it was pretty good. We had three days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday where it didn’t rain and it was glorious sunshine. I enjoyed the sunshine very much as after each day, I did get a suntan. I’ll need to bring my trunks for the seaside next time. 😀
On Monday, we spent most of the time in Amroth exploring our surroundings as well as taking an attempted walk to Pendine. We got to meet Bertie the fish who was new in the Amroth area! 😀 This was a fish made out of plastic. I was so amazed by how this fish was made to save the environment.
The walk to Pendine was mostly hilly and my parents and I only did half of it before turning back. Cuddles also joined us for our holiday in Amroth this year. He reunited with his little doggie friend outside the caravan. 😀
On Tuesday, my parents and I went on a trip to Tenby and Caldey Island. Caldey Island was something we’d been meaning to do last year but never got around to doing. Thankfully we did this year and it was a gloriously sunny day for it. We even journeyed to the island by boat which was pretty amazing. The island had a monastery as well as churches and a lighthouse. I took plenty of photo shots with my Samsung phone. Afterwards, we came back to Tenby to have a fish and chips meal.
On Wednesday, my parents and I walked to Wiseman’s Bridge as well as Saundersfoot. We walked there and back. Seriously, we did a lot of walking on our Amroth holiday and again it was gloriously sunny weather. When walking there and back, we stopped in Wiseman’s Bridge for coffee breaks before setting off again.
In Saundersfoot, there’s a shop called Sutton’s. I wonder if Sarah Sutton owns it. 😀 We had a meal at the Captain’s Table pub restaurant which I enjoyed as well as having an ice cream on a glorious sunny afternoon. We eventually returned to Amroth and enjoyed more of the sunshine.
Thursday was us doing the same thing going to Wiseman’s Bridge and Saundersfoot, but it wasn’t a glorious sunny day as yesterday was. We had a nice brunch when we arrived in Saundersfoot and we took the bus back home to Amroth. We could have gone to Pendine on that day but sadly we didn’t.
In terms of the evening entertainment we had that week, we saw movies on our tablet like ‘Star Trek: First Contact’, the ‘Spider-Man’ movie with Tobey Maguire and ‘Toy Story 2’. We also listened to episodes of ‘The Avengers: The Lost Episodes’ by Big Finish, ‘Fawlty Towers’ and the first two ‘Doctor Who’ episodes of ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’ starring Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton. Very entertaining!
Friday was the day we went home. I couldn’t leave Amroth though without taking a photo of Postman Pat in his van with Jess the cat. 😀 On the way home, my parents and I visited the National Botanic Garden of Wales. It was really impressive to see and larger than I expected to be on seeing it.
Cuddles even joined us in seeing the Botanic Garden! 😀 We saw a variety of exotic plants outside as well as inside various plant-houses. One of these plant-houses was in the shape of a massive dome like the Millennium one in London.
My parents and I had a good holiday break in Amroth this year. I’m guessing we’ll be going to Amroth again next year. But that’s not a bad thing as I’ve enjoyed going to Amroth in West Wales for the past three years and find them good excuses for a break. Maybe it’s Scotland next year. Or not.
I’ll have to review the ‘Mr. Men’/’Doctor Who’ books whilst on holidays more. 😀
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂

Hi Simon.
I really enjoyed my ice cream on holiday! 😀 Glad you enjoyed the photos and my holiday report in Amroth this year. My parents and I are already considering plans for next year’s holiday wherever it may be.
I did see a trailer for the new ‘Spider-Man’ video game on PS4 at the cinema. It looks very impressive. I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far. I wish I could play that game but I don’t have a PS4 console. I look forward to you in-depth review on it.
I always consider the original Tobey Maguire trilogy of ‘Spider-Man’ to the best of the lot. I have enjoyed the latest movie versions and I know people have ciriticised the original trilogy lately. But I can’t help loving it since it was the Tobey Maguire era I grew up with. I reflected on that whilst re-watching the first ‘Spider-Man’ movie recently. I hope to share thoughts on ‘How would I re-make Spider-Man 3 and make Spider-Man 4’ sometime soon.
Many thanks, Simon.
Tim. 🙂
