Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 1 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018.
And it’s time to start sharing my photo memories of Christmas from December 2008!
For the first photo memory, I’m sharing a picture I took of my milk chocolate advent calendar that I used to count down to Christmas. This is of course a ‘Doctor Who’ themed advent calendar with a red Dalek on it. Or it could be a bronze Dalek with a shade of red upon it. I’m not so certain honestly.
It’s not the blood-red Supreme Dalek from ‘The Stolen Earth’/’Journey’s End’ anyway. By coincidence mind, this Dalek advent calendar came out months after Series 4 of new ‘Doctor Who’ with David Tennant was transmitted. 2008 was a golden year for me with being a ‘Doctor Who’ fan.
As you can see from the photo, the Dalek advent calendar doesn’t just have numbers for the 24 days leading up to Christmas. It also has the days counting down to the ‘Happy New Year’ for 2009. I looked forward to having a chocolate each day from my advent calendar in the lead up to Christmas.
I recall still being in Cardiff University at the time I was enjoying December in 2008 in the build-up to Christmas. I was in my second year at university. On a side note, I wanted to build a collection of photo and video memories with experiencing Christmas 2008 for my family and me to look back on.
Things have changed a lot since then. I don’t have chocolate advent calendars as much as I like to these days. When I do for certain Christmases, I’m happy indeed. But of course it doesn’t worry me much as I’m happy doing my own advent calendars on my ‘Bradley’s Basement’ for people to enjoy.
Thanks for reading!
