Day 2 – Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 2 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018’.

And it’s time to take a look at a December Sunday morning from the front door!

This is what the first Sunday morning of December in 2008 appears to be from my front door in Cardiff. Yeah, it’s not very snowy is it? It’s mostly frost! And the sun’s out. We don’t get much snow at around Christmas time like many other countries in the UK or the USA tend to do in certain years.

When we do get snow at around Christmas time, it’s rare. I think the last time it happened must be either 2009 or 2010. The biggest snowfall we had recently was in March 2018 this year! And it wasn’t at Christmas. Yeah sometimes we do get snow in the UK, but it often comes after Christmas.

This is a shame really. I would like there to be more snowy white Christmases now and again where kids can play and families don’t have to go out to far away places because of the snow. The snow can also help with me enjoying Christmas movies at home on the TV and give it a more authentic feel. 😀

Anyway, from the photo, it does spring two memories for me in terms of remembering December 2008. One is from this photo itself where my parents and I would go to church on a Sunday morning. The other was when my parents and I walked from our home on a pretty foggy day to get to Cardiff.

And that was on New Year’s Eve in 2008 after Christmas happened! Yeah, New Year’s Eve! My parents and I enjoyed the walk into town. We had breakfast somewhere on the way into Cardiff. I recall purchasing two ‘Doctor Who’ Big Finish CDs featuring the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa from Cardiff.

Thanks for reading!

Check out what my Day 2 of my ‘Bradley’s Basement Advent Calendar’ for 20152016 and 2017 were about!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
