Day 11 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 11 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018.

Here’s a photo memory from December 2008 that I’ve wanted to talk about.

This photo shows the entrance to the ‘Doctor Who’ Ultimate Encounter (or ‘Up Close’ exhibition as I remember it) that was held back in the late 2000s during the Russell T. Davies era. It was placed inside the Atlantic Wharf building in Cardiff Bay. It’s no longer there now of course, which is so sad. 😦

This was way before the ‘Doctor Who Experience’ came along first in London and then in Cardiff Bay itself. I used to enjoy going into the Ultimate Encounter exhibition of ‘Doctor Who’ whenever I visited Cardiff Bay in the late 2000s. It was my very special escape route into ‘Doctor Who’ wonder. 😀

Like the ‘Doctor Who Experience’, the Ultimate Encounter exhibition held many exhibits of ‘Doctor Who’ from the new series. At the time I took a photo of this place, it was housing exhibits from the first four seasons of new ‘Doctor Who’ for the Russell T. Davies era, starring David Tennant’s Doctor.

I took quite a lot of photos inside the Ultimate Encounter exhibition when I visited it back in December 2008 for my second day trip into Cardiff. I would like to share all my photos of the Ultimate Encounter back in 2008 on my blog. It will have to be in a special blog post for another day.

I miss going to the Ultimate Encounter exhibition and the ‘Doctor Who Experience’ in Cardiff as those were special places for me as a ‘Doctor Who’ fan to enjoy seeing the exhibits and going to the shops. Check out my posts for the ‘Doctor Who Experience’ back in November 2016 and April 2017.

Thanks for reading!

Check out what my Day 11 of my ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar for 2015, 2016 and 2017 were about!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
