Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 15 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018.
Are you a fan of ‘The Lord of the Rings’? So am I! Here’s a photo memory of it.
Okay, I know, it’s not what you’re expecting. But I class ‘The Lord of the Rings’ radio series as good as the Peter Jackson-directed movies and the original books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Why do I bring this photo memory up? Well apparently I was listening to ‘The Two Towers’ volume of the radio series in 2008.
How and why I was listening to it was really for me in preparation to see ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’ on DVD when I got it for Christmas. Yeah I know, it sounds strange. But Tolkien and C.S. Lewis had a connection with each other since they were English professors at Oxford University.
But let’s go back to ‘The Lord of the Rings’ radio series. It’s an amazing adaptation of the original books that was made by the BBC back in the 1980s. It stars Ian Holm as Frodo Baggins; Michael Horden as Gandalf; Robert Stephens as Aragorn and Bill Nighy as Sam. Trust me, this is a great series.
I recall listening to the last CD disc of ‘The Two Towers’ on Christmas Eve back in December 2008. It was an exciting, surreal and creepy feeling to listen to ‘The Two Towers’ on audio before Christmas happened. The last segment of the story had Frodo and Sam fighting Shelob in her lair with Gollum.
I’ve added my reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ radio series as well as the movies on my ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog. I’ve updated my review for ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ but have updated half of my ‘Two Towers’ radio series review. I hope I’ll get back to update my ‘Two Towers’ audio review soon.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
