Day 20 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 20 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018.

Say! It must be getting close to Christmas Day now, mustn’t it?! I’m excited! 😀

So what Christmas memory from 2008 can I share with you today? Well, how about a ‘Doctor Who’ board game I got for Christmas that year? This photo image shows ‘The Time Travelling Action Game’ of ‘Doctor Who’ with a revolving electronic gameboard. I still have the game in my bedroom.

I have fond memories playing this ‘Doctor Who’ board game with my parents over the Christmas holidays in 2008. This board game is of course based on the TV series and features references to the Russell T. Davies/David Tennant era at the time since Series 4 was previously shown on TV that year.

As you can see from the box cover, this board game comes complete with Cybermen and Daleks as well as David Tennant. 😀 I recall my parents and I using counters that had colours ranged from red to blue to green, etc and they all had Tenth Doctor images on them instead of alternative characters.

There was a pack of cards to the game that gave questions for my parents and I to answer. If we win, we move our counter to the next stage of the game. If we lose, we miss a turn of course. I also recall the game having a revolving top with a TARDIS in the centre that whooshed away with sound effects.

Sometimes my parents and I would face a time portal or confront a monster if we placed our counters on one of the marks. It’s been a long time since I’ve placed ‘The Time Travelling Action Game’ of ‘Doctor Who’. My parents and I must get back into playing it as we so enjoyed playing it. 😀

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
