Are you hungry for some Christmas food? I know I am! 😀
Today’s photo image is what our family Christmas meal at home looked like on Christmas Day back in December 2008. We would usually have a Christmas meal at home at lunch-time right before the Queen’s Speech. Usually we go for a chicken meal instead of a traditional turkey meal at Christmas.
As you can see, the Christmas dinner is all laid out and almost ready, with Dad laying a jug of gravy on the table. We also have crackers laid out on the table. I always have to read the jokes from Mum’s crackers since she can’t read the small print on the piece of paper contained with the other goodies.
We tend to have chicken slices with stuffing; perhaps a few Yorkshire puddings on the side and some vegetables like carrots; parsnips and sprouts. Sometimes if I’m very lucky, we have pigs in blankets with our Christmas meal. I enjoy having sausages wrapped in bacon with a Christmas meal. Yummy!
In terms of drinks, we tend to have Shloer, the sparkling juice drink, with our Christmas meal. It may not be alcoholic as wine, but it’s preferable to us, the Bradleys, and gives off the appearance of being wine. 😀 So often we have flavours like white grape; rosé grape and red grape with our Shloer.
In terms of a dessert, we have sponge pudding; sticky toffee pudding or Christmas pudding that we sometimes get from Tesco. Whether we’ll have the same style of meal for Christmas Day this year is yet to be determined. But I am looking forward to having it. I hope you’re looking forward to yours too.
