Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 22 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018’.
Time to share with you another ‘Doctor Who’ item I had for Christmas 2008!
Yes, here’s an image of my CD featuring music from Series 4 of ‘Doctor Who’, starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate. I regard Series 4 of new ‘Doctor Who’ as one of my favourite seasons. I certainly consider 2008 as one of the best years to be considered a ‘Doctor Who’ fan around that period.
The Series 4 music CD has incidental music composed by Murray Gold. I certainly consider Murray Gold’s music to be at its best during the Russell T. Davies era more so than the Steven Moffat era. Many of the music tunes during the Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant eras are pretty memorable.
It was a joy to play the Series 4 music CD whilst waiting for the Christmas dinner to be ready on Christmas Day in 2008. I enjoyed re-living the Series 4 music from the 2008 theme music for David Tennant’s Doctor to the cues from ‘Voyage of the Damned’, ‘Partners In Crime’, ‘Journey’s End’, etc.
I still keep the music CDs of ‘Doctor Who’ from Series 1, 2, 3, 4 and the Specials from the Russell T. Davies era of the show. I have purchased music CDs from the Matt Smith era to coincide with the show’s 50th anniversary, but somehow that music doesn’t feel as ‘so good’ as the RTD years with me.
To think I was listening to Series 4 ‘Doctor Who’ music from the David Tennant era on CD for Christmas Day 2008 before watching ‘The Next Doctor’ on TV. I especially enjoyed hearing the ‘Song of Freedom’ on the CD which was performed in ‘Planet of the Ood’ as well as in ‘Journey’s End’ itself.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
