Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 24 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2018’.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this year’s advent calendar! What’s the last photo memory?
Yes! We finish this year’s advent calendar with an image of the decorated Christmas tree in our family home for 2008. As part of tradition, I usually decorate the Christmas tree for my parents and me at home. I enjoy doing it. It’s hard work decorating a Christmas tree, but it’s plenty of fun as well.
Usually I play something in the background on a CD to keep me going when I’m decorating the Christmas tree. Sometimes it would be Christmas music from the Beach Boys or something; the ‘Dad’s Army’ radio Christmas episode, ‘Present Arms’, and the ‘Doctor Who’ audio drama, ‘Spare Parts’.
‘Spare Parts’ features Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa as well as the monstrous Cybermen. The reason why I listen to that audio drama from Big Finish is because there’s a scene where Nyssa helps the Hartley family decorate their own Christmas tree on the planet Mondas.
Somehow I feel good about decorating the Christmas tree whenever I listen to ‘Spare Parts’ from ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Present Arms’ from ‘Dad’s Army’. I’m sure I’ve done the same again for this year as part of the Christmas tradition. The Christmas tree would look very different today compared to 2008.
I certainly don’t have that handmade angel on top of the tree made by me with paper when I was young. We have a proper star on top of the Christmas tree these days. In any case, the Christmas tree is good to have in the house, especially on Christmas Eve as the pretty special day draws closer.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Bye for now!
