Hello everyone.
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.
I’d like to give a little tribute to June Whitfield who recently passed away. I’m saddened to hear the news of her passing as I’ve enjoyed watching June Whitfield with Terry Scott in the BBC sitcom series, ‘Terry and June’. I have fond memories watching that classic comedy series featuring the two.
I’m pleased my parents and I watched the Christmas Specials of ‘Terry and June’ before the festive season began and before June Whitfield passed away. Watching ‘Terry and June’ over Christmas time means a lot to me, as I feel reassured; relaxed and entertained with watching the gentle sitcom.
I have seen June Whitfield in other things as well as ‘Terry and June’ like the earlier, similar sitcom, ‘Happy Ever After’ with Terry Scott as well as guest appearances in ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ and in one of the ITV ‘Agatha Christie’s Marple’ TV films with Geraldine McEwan. It is a joy to watch her in something.
I was delighted when June Whitfield guest starred in the two-part ‘Doctor Who’ story, ‘The End of Time’ with David Tennant on TV from 2009 to 2010. She was a delight in that as well and it’s amazing to think I saw her on TV over Christmas and New Year’s Day back then after watching ‘Terry and June’.
‘Terry and June’ means a lot to me as a classic BBC sitcom series as June Whitfield as well as Terry Scott gave me plenty of laughs. I look forward to revisiting ‘Terry and June’ someday and do reviews on the series itself. The fond memories I have for June Whitfield and Terry Scott will remain always.
My prayers and thoughts are with June Whitfield’s family and friends. Check out more about June Whitfield and the latest tributes given to her by those who knew her in this BBC news post here – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-46712694
