Basement News – April 2019

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re in April now! Golly, how these months fly by! If you’ve enjoyed the latest ‘Doctor Who’ review by me with Sarah Sutton on the 1st of April, that’s great! If you haven’t seen it, go and check it out.

I’m currently looking forward to having a short little break with my parents when we go to Amroth in April, not September this year. As such, let’s take a look at what else is occurring in April and beyond on my blog.

I know I said I was going to share new reviews on Series 11 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jodie Whittaker as well as on ‘Resolution’ and that’s what I hope to do this month. I’m currently working on the Series 11 and ‘Resolution’ reviews of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jodie Whittaker and I hope to post them soon this April.

There will also be some brand-new updated reviews on the Season 18 ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Tom Baker’s Doctor, based on the brand-new Season 18 Blu-ray box set that was out in March. I also hope to write a brand-new updated review on ‘The Macra Terror’ DVD/Blu-ray release with Patrick Troughton’s Doctor, featuring new animation on the story. It’s turning out to be pretty busy this year!

There is a brand-new ‘Dr. Who’/’Mr. Men’ book review on ‘Dr. Third’ by me on my blog. Hopefully another book review on ‘Dr. Fourth’ will be made this year. I’ve created two new ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ for two Eighth Doctor companions for my blog including Bliss and Helen Sinclair. Please feel free to check them out in ‘The Companions’ Timelines Index’.

I’ve finally reviewed all 9 episodes of the short-lived ‘Star Cops’ TV series on DVD on my blog. Please feel free to check out my reviews on the TV episodes. I’m currently listening to the Big Finish audios of ‘Star Cops’ and I hope to post the first half of my reviews on ‘Mother Earth’ sometime soon this week on my blog.

I’ve shared my latest story in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series called ‘City of Monsters’ on my blog. This features the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy reuniting with Jo Jones nee Grant as they confront Drashigs; Ogrons and Autons and meet Corporal James Darby. I’ve also had my story ‘Psychic Image’ posted in the ‘Genesis of Terror’ collection on ‘The Divergent Wordsmiths’ website. It’s pretty exciting!

I’ve also re-shared my ‘Fifth Doctor’ stories, ‘The Stockbridge Terror’; ‘Time Burp’; the third ‘Merry Christmas From The Doctor, Nyssa and Billy’ episode called ‘Cuddles’ and the Short Trip called ‘Light-Ground’ in the run-up to the release of ‘City of Monsters’ on my blog. I’m hoping and look forward to writing my Short Trip called ‘Hank Prank’ featuring the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz soon.

In March, Timelord007 and I finished our reviews on the ‘Star Trek’ reboot trilogy with our review on the third film, ‘Star Trek Beyond’, posted in that month. Very soon, there will be a set of new film reviews on ‘The Busby Berkley Collection’, which are a number of black-and-white 1930s musical films.

I’m very happy to have seen Sarah Sutton at two comic cons in March including the ‘London Comic Con Spring’ and the ‘Film and Comic Con Cardiff 2019’. I hope to see Sarah at another convention soon. I’m also happy to have received ‘The Moon Stallion’ audiobook on CD and download this year!

I saw the latest film of the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ series called ‘Captain Marvel’ at the cinema in March. I look forward to seeing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ at the cinema next as well as review Part 1 of Phase 3 of the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ on DVD on my blog. Regarding other movies at the cinema, I hope to see the Disney live-action version of ‘Dumbo’ as well as a re-release of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

We’re getting closer to Easter this month and this is another good time to let you know about my ‘Gospel of Mark’ blog post series that is currently underway. These blog posts include summaries on each chapter of the biblical Gospel of Mark. They’re being posted every Sunday before Easter. So far, Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 have been posted online. Check out the blog posts before Easter comes along!

Also in April, there’ll be the release of my annual series of Easter reviews. This year, my Easter review season will be on the Lost Season 23 of ‘Doctor Who’ by Big Finish featuring Colin Baker’s Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant’s Peri. These are on the stories that could’ve been on TV had the series not been axed in 1985 by Michael Grade and Jonathan Powell. These are eight audio reviews in total. Stay tuned! 😉

My parents and I have finished watching Series 8 of ‘Call the Midwife’ via BBC iPlayer and my review on the season finale Episode 8 is now on my blog. I’ve also posted my reviews on Series 3 and the two Christmas Specials from 1983 and 1985 in ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. My parents and I have just begun Series 4. I will soon be posting updated reviews on all the ‘Monarch of the Glen’ episodes. Also, check out my latest review on the 2009 TV produciton of ‘Hamlet’, starring David Tennant and Patrick Stewart.

I’ve also reviewed the movie novelization on the first ‘Batman’ movie by director Tim Burton from 1989. I hope to check out the next Batman movie novelization on ‘Batman Returns’ sometime soon. I would like to check out the ‘Back to the Future’ movie novelizations sometime. I’m currently going through some original ‘Doctor Who’ books, the first one being ‘Ten Little Aliens’ with the First Doctor.
