Basement News – June 2019

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re now into June this year! How come these years go by so quickly when I’m having fun? 😀 Anyway, now that May’s done with and I had an exciting time with my birthday and everything, I’m looking forward to what June has in store. What surprises will there be for me this month? Will they be good? Let’s find out!

First of all, you may have noticed that I’m starting a ‘Doctor Who’ marathon where I share my reviews on every new series episode from ‘Rose’ to ‘Resolution’. This will go on from June up to October, I believe. Keep a look out for my announcements on when I share my new series ‘Doctor Who’ reviews each day from now on.

This year I’ve been updating my reviews on Season 18 of ‘Doctor Who’ featuring Tom Baker, based on the latest Blu-ray box set release. This includes new reviews on ‘The Leisure Hive’, ‘Meglos’, ‘Full Circle’, ‘State of Decay’, ‘Warriors’ Gate’, ‘The Keeper of Traken’ and ‘Logopolis’ as well as ‘K-9 & Company: A Girl’s Best Friend’. I’ve also shared my updated reviews on ‘The Macra Terror’ and ‘The Enemy of the World’ with Patrick Troughton’s Doctor.

I’m going to make a start on my new Fifth Doctor story called ‘The Prime Factor’, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy. Been looking forward to it! Stay tuned for when I announce it’ll be up on my blog. I’ve also created a new ‘Doctor Who Timeline’ for Eighth Doctor companion C’rizz lately. Check out ‘The Companions’ Timelines Index’ for it.

Something to shock you! I’ve prepared the Easter review season for 2020. Yeah, I know. I’m crazy! But I’m glad I’ve got my reviews scheduled for a certain sci-fi series. You’ll have to wait and see what it is next Easter. 😀

I’ve seen quite a number of movies at the cinema in May than I anticipated. For my birthday, I saw ‘Avengers: Endgame’. I later saw ‘Tolkien’; ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu’; ‘Breakthrough’; the Disney live-action remake of ‘Aladdin’ and a limited re-release of the 1989 ‘Batman’ movie at the cinema. For June, I’m looking forward to seeing ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ and ‘Toy Story 4’ at the cinema.

Regarding books I’m reading, I’ve reviewed the ‘Doctor Who’ book ‘Dreams of Empire’ with the Second Doctor, Jamie and Victoria on my blog. I’m currently reading ‘Players’ with the Sixth Doctor and Peri. I hope to finish and review it on my blog soon. I’ve also added my reviews on Series 2 of ‘Torchwood’ this year on my blog for you to enjoy. For Bank Holiday Monday in May, I’ve added my reviews on ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’.

I’ve also done quick reviews on ‘Campion’ and ‘Blake’s 7’ – Series 2. For my birthday this year, I’ve had presents like ‘The Rocketeer’ and the ‘Wartime Chronicles’ to enjoy! 😀

That’s all I’ll say for a news preview on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in June 2019 and beyond. I’m sure there’s something I’ve forgotten, including a music concert that has a name which escapes me :D, but I’m looking forward to whatever surprises lay in June as well as a comic con in a couple of months time.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
