Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
With a new wallpaper for my blog, it’s fitting I’ve added it to my ‘Basement News’ post for August this year. Hope you’ve enjoyed July like I did, by the way. I’m greatly looking forward to August this year. I’ve got a nice convention weekend coming up and I hope to add and write new stories and reviews on my blog this month!
This month, I’m looking forward to attending the ‘Film & Comic Con Glasgow‘ at the Braehead Arena from the 17th to the 18th of August. The weekend event will have people like Sarah Sutton, Sophie Aldred and Katy Manning attending. I’m looking forward to this weekend as it’ll be my little summer holiday for this year.
The ‘Doctor Who’ marathon is still on-going in August and we’re now in Series 6 territory with Matt Smith’s Doctor. Today, we’ve just had ‘A Good Man Goes To War’ as our latest entry. Keep in tune to this marathon as we look to the rest of the series until October. Looking forward to when we get to Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor!
I’ve received my Blu-ray box set for Season 10 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jon Pertwee. I hope to start re-watching the season and update my reviews on each of the five stories after I’ve attended the Glasgow weekend event. I probably will review Season 10 alongside Season 23 with Colin Baker when that comes out on Blu-ray in September.
This year, it’s the 20th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ @ Big Finish. I celebrated the occasion with a blog post featuring links to reviews on my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories by Big Finish. I’ve also pre-ordered a number of ‘Doctor Who’ CD releases by Big Finish which I’m looking forward to receiving in the post.
I’ve finished ‘The Prime Factor’, my latest ‘Fifth Doctor’ story featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy. I’m so pleased I’ve finished it. I’m currently in the process of updating ‘Part One’ with amendments to the story. Hopefully I’ll set the story for release about November time and look forward to doing some short stories after that.
I’ve recently reviewed the book and audiobook of ‘Beautiful Chaos’ with the Tenth Doctor and Donna as well as the latest ‘Tenth Doctor Adventures’ by Big Finish with David Tennant and Catherine Tate. Soon, my review on ‘The Silent Stars Go By’ with the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory will be on my blog. I’m looking forward to get started on reading the ‘Batman Returns’ and ‘Batman & Robin’ movie novelizations and I’ve recently purchased ‘Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover’, a prequel novel to the PS4 game.
Speaking of which, the movies I saw at the cinema in July included ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and the 2019 remake of ‘The Lion King’. I’ve no plans for seeing movies at the cinema in August, although I might see ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ again when I’m in Glasgow. The next movie at the cinema on my list is ‘A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’ in October. Stay tuned!
In July, I’ve added my reviews on the BBC ‘Miss Marple’ TV series starring Joan Hickson. I’m currently reviewing Phase Three: Part One of the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ series. So far, I’ve reviewed ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’. My reviews on ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be coming soon.
I’ve recently shared my convention memories on the ‘London Film & Comic Con’ from July 2011. Please feel free to check it out. Very soon, my convention memories on the ‘Regenerations 2011’ weekend in September 2011 will be on my blog soon. Also, check out my recent review on ‘Stuart Townend and Cambrensis in Concert’.
There’s bound to be more to look forward to in August, but I’ll keep you in suspense for now. Thanks to those who follow my blog and keep supporting it, especially through the ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ I’ve created. I’ll have to think about how to celebrate the blog’s 4th anniversary very soon when we come to September this year.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
