Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 5 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019.
Let’s talk about one of the Doctors today! And he had a short reign on TV!
Paul McGann played the Eighth Doctor in ‘The TV Movie’ back in 1996. It was his only TV appearance until ‘The Night of the Doctor’ in 2013. Since then, Paul McGann has done plenty of Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’ as the Eighth Doctor. I’m very pleased to have met Paul at ‘Doctor Who’ conventions.
The first time I met Paul was at the ‘Dimensions 2013’ convention in Newcastle, October 2013. I later saw Paul again at the ‘Cardiff Film & Comic Con’ in March 2014. I saw Paul again at the ‘Folkestone Film, TV and Comic Con’ in May 2018 and at the ‘Science of the Time Lords’ event in Leciester, January 2019.
I’ve enjoyed seeing Paul at conventions and I’ve shared with him how much I’ve enjoyed him doing the Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’. At conventions, Paul has signed my CD covers for the stories ‘The Company of Friends’, the 2003 version of ‘Shada’; ‘The Chimes of Midnight’ and ‘The Four Doctors’. 🙂
Paul has also signed my copy of ‘The Light At The End’. In many ways, Paul McGann’s Doctor has had a long life in the audio adventures of ‘Doctor Who’. I’m pleased he’s had the chance to embrace and develop his Doctor in the audios compared to short period he had with just doing that one ‘TV Movie’.
I recall Paul saying how much he loved ‘The Chimes of Midnight’ when he recorded it back in 2002. I also enjoyed chatting to him about starring in ‘Our Mutual Friend’ and working with Keeley Hawes. I’m thankful that I’ve met Paul at conventions and I look forward to hearing more Eighth Doctor audios.
Thanks for reading!

Ditto. I was hoping he would be after seeing him in ‘The Night of the Doctor’.
