Day 6 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 6 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019.

It’s time to talk about a savage ‘Doctor Who’ companion who is actually a very nice lady. 😀

Tim Bradley with Louise Jameson at ‘Pandorica 2014’, Bristol, September 2014

The first time I met Louise Jameson was at the ‘Regenerations 2011’ convention in Swansea, September 2011. She signed my DVD cover of ‘Image of the Fendahl’ then. I’ve seen Louise at more conventions after that and have found her to be a really pleasant, friendly lady to chat during signings.

Louise Jameson plays Leela, the savage companion of Tom Baker’s Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. I’ve enjoyed Louise in the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series as well as the Big Finish audios. I’m happy that she and Tom Baker work well together in the Big Finish audios and she’s been able to develop Leela’s character.

I’ve seen Louise at more conventions like ‘Big Blue Box 2’ in Tunbridge Wells, March 2013; ‘Project Motor Mouth 2’ in Slough, August 2013; ‘Regenerations 2013’ in Swansea, September 2013; ‘Time Warp’ in Weston-super-Mare, July 2014; ‘Pandorica 2014’ in Bristol, September 2014; the ‘Timeless Collectors’ fair in Fareham, December 2014; ‘Big Finish Day 6’ in Slough, January 2015; ‘Valiant 2015’ in Sheffield, March 2015; the ‘Bournemouth Film & Comic Con’ in August 2015; the ‘London Film & Comic Con’ in July 2017 and very recently at the ‘Science of the Time Lords’ convention in Leicester, January 2019.

One of my happiest memories in seeing Louise was when she organised the ‘Timey Wimey 1’ convention in Brighton, November 2014 with Matt Evenden. I had a happy time attending that convention with Louise Jameson, John Leeson, Sarah Sutton, Wendy Padbury, Sophie Aldred and Tom Baker as guests.

Louise has signed more number of items for me at conventions including my DVD covers for ‘The Face of Evil’, ‘The Robots of Death’, ‘The Talons of Weng-Chiang’, ‘Horror of Fang Rock’ and ‘The Sun Makers’; my CD covers for ‘The Fourth Doctor Box Set’, ‘Destination: Nerva’, ‘The Renaissance Man’, ‘The Wrath of the Iceni’, ‘Energy of the Daleks’, ‘Trail of the White Worm’/’The Oseidon Adventure’, ‘Night of the Stormcrow’ and the ‘Philip Hinchcliffe Presents’ box set; and my copy for ‘The Light At The End’. I’m very happy to have met Louise Jameson at conventions and I’ve greatly enjoyed my chats with her.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

If it weren’t for Louise i doubt Tom Baker would’ve done BF, she gently proded him to talk to Nick Briggs about giving them a go & what great company they are work for…….the rest is history cause it’s given Tom’s Doctor a new leash of life on audio.

I’m glad Louise persuaded Tom to do the Big Finish audios and he’s clearly enjoying them. I’m glad the two of them get on well with each other nowadays. Tim. 🙂
