Day 9 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 9 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019.

It’s time to go to the swinging sixties of ‘Doctor Who’ with you know who! 😀

Tim Bradley with Anneke Wills at ‘Pandorica 2015’, Bristol, September 2015

I first saw Anneke Wills at the ‘Regenerations 2010’ convention in Swansea, September 2010. Anneke is well-known for playing Polly, companion of William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton’s Doctors in the TV series. She’s reprised her role as Polly in many of the Big Finish audios and has read some ‘Doctor Who’ audiobooks.

I’ve seen Anneke at more conventions including ‘Regenerations 2011’ in Swansea, September 2011; ‘Project Motor Mouth 2’ in Slough, August 2013; ‘Regenerations 2013’ in Swansea, September 2013; ‘Dimensions 2013’ in Newcastle, October 2013; ‘Pandorica 2015’ in Bristol, September 2015 and ‘Regenerations 2016’ in Swansea, September 2016. My encounters with Anneke have been pleasant.

I had a nice chat with Anneke once. This was in the evening after ‘Project Motor Mouth 2’ took place in August 2013. I was with a group of fans meeting up with Janet Fielding and Anneke Wills. I recall Anneke and me chatting about ‘Doctor Who’ as well as Susan Hampshire and ‘Monarch of the Glen’ back then.

I’ve had a number of items signed by Anneke at conventions. This includes the DVD cover for ‘The Moonbase’ as well as the CD covers for ‘The Power of the Daleks’ TV soundtrack and the Big Finish audios ‘House of Cards’ and ‘The Five Companions’. I’ve enjoyed seeing and hearing Anneke as Polly.

Anneke Wills and Terry Molloy were responsible for encouraging Cary Woodward to organise the ‘Regenerations’ conventions in Swansea which I’ve enjoyed attending. I’m pleased I’ve met Anneke at conventions and I’m equally happy to have seen and heard her as Polly in the adventures she’s been in.

Thanks for reading!
