Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 24 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2019’.
To finish off my ‘Advent Calendar’ for this year, it’s time to talk about the best well-known Doctor of them all!
I never thought in a million years that I would meet or have photos with Tom Baker, the longest-serving Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ both on TV and in the Big Finish audios. Tom Baker played the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1981. He is well-loved by the fans and is considered to be the definite Doctor. 😀
The first time I saw Tom was at the ‘Timey Wimey 1’ convention in Brighton, November 2014, co-run by Louise Jameson with Matt Evenden. Tom Baker was like the main headline guest for the event and he did a panel talk conducted by Toby Hadoke before going off to do some photo shoots with the fans.
I asked a question to Tom Baker during the panel talk about jelly babies. 😀 Sadly Tom didn’t do any signings at the event as it was just the panel talk and the photo shoots. During my photo shoot with Tom, I did say to him, “It’s nice to meet you!” He said to me, “It’s nice to be met!” I’ll never forget that!
I didn’t think I would ever see Tom Baker again at another convention. Thankfully I did as I saw him again this year at the ‘London Comic Con Spring’ in March 2019 where I had a photo shoot with him. Again, I didn’t get to have anything signed by Tom at the event, but I’m happy I’ve had a photo with him.
Tom Baker has done plenty of Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’ playing the Fourth Doctor. I’m pleased he’s done so since there was a time where it didn’t seem like it was going to happen. I’m pleased I’ve had my photos with Tom at conventions and there’s no denying that he is one of the best Doctors in the series.
Thanks for reading!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Bye for now!
