Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Today I’ve added my reviews on Volume 1 of ‘The Churchill Years’ starring Ian McNeice as Winston Churchill. Ian McNeice reprises his role from the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series to star in stories where Churchill has encounters with the Ninth, the Tenth and the Eleventh Doctors. The Volume 1 CD box set also features Danny Horn, Holly Earl, Emily Atack, Caroline Seymour and Nicholas Briggs.
What good timing to have these reviews shared my blog, as the announcement has just been made by Big Finish recently that Christopher Eccleston has reprised his role for some Ninth Doctor audio adventures. This I’m excited about and I’m looking forward to hearing some new ‘Doctor Who’ episodes with Chris Eccleston’s Doctor.
Just to point out, I’m reviewing these Churchill ‘Doctor Who’ audio episodes as ‘Doctor Who’ audio episodes. I won’t be mentioning anything political that has come up about Churchill in the recent socio-political climate. I want to enjoy these stories as they are and hopefully that will be reflected in my reviews.
The CD box set of ‘The Churchill Years’ – Volume 1 contains four audio episodes. These include ‘The Oncoming Storm’ by Phil Mulryne; ‘Hounded’ by Alan Barnes; ‘Living History’ by Justin Richards and ‘The Chartwell Metamorphosis’ by Ken Bentley. All four episodes are directed by Ken Bentley.
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my reviews for these four episodes by clicking on the links for them. You can purchase ‘The Churchill Years’ – Volume 1 CD box set from Amazon.co.uk; Amazon.com or the Big Finish website.
Enjoy! 🙂
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
