Blu-ray Review – ‘Captain Marvel’

Somewhere in deep space, on a desolate planet, a TARDIS materialises. Whooshing and grinding, the TARDIS makes a loud thump to land.

Eventually, the TARDIS doors open, and out steps Timelord007. He looks around the place, finding it abysmal and inhospitable. He uses his sonic screwdriver, switching it on and it buzzes away. He’s tracing a signal in response to the summons for help he sent the previous week.

Timelord007: “Where have you brought me to this time, old girl? Hmm! There’s a faint signal, but it’s very difficult to trace. Looks to be emitting from that direction.”

Timelord007 walks ahead, away from his TARDIS, trying to find out who answered the call. So far, he can’t find anything. He gets anxious and impatient, but continues to scan the area, using his sonic screwdriver.

Timelord007: “Oh come on! Give me something! A beep! A noise! A text message!”

Just then, someone steps out in front of Timelord007. Timelord007 is amazed to see this person.

Timelord007: (channels his Tenth Doctor) “What?!” (Pause) “What?!!!” (Pause) “WHAT?!!!!!”

Deadpool: “Hello Simon! Did you miss me?”

 Meanwhile, back with Tim Bradley…

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome back everyone to another week of a review season that focuses on the latest Marvel superhero movies from Marvel Studios – the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Review Season’!

I’m still stuck in the Divergent Universe and Timelord007 is still out there in space looking for help. Don’t know what kind of help he’ll find, but hopefully it’ll be resolved when he returns to help me review ‘Avengers: Endgame’. But for now, it’s time to take a look at the next movie in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Review Season’ in the ‘Phase Three: Part Two’ Blu-ray box set that I have. 🙂

It’s time to take a look at ‘Captain Marvel’, arguably the first solo female superhero movie to be featured in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ film series. This film was released in March 2019 and it stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Dijmon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Benning, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. I’m of course sharing an updated version of my review which I posted back in March 2019.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my new Blu-ray review for ‘Captain Marvel’ here.

Stay tuned for the review on the next film in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ film series, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, coming soon.

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
