Just want to share a tribute to Diana Rigg, well-known for playing Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers’ TV series from 1965 to 1968. I was shocked and surprised to hear the news that Diana Rigg had passed away, as I recently saw her in the second episode of the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series.
I greatly enjoyed her as Mrs. Pumphrey in the new ‘All Creatures’ show. It’s sad to think there might not be another season of the new show with her playing the character. Diana Rigg has captured the hearts of millions of viewers who watched her as Mrs. Peel. I’ve enjoyed her in ‘The Avengers’ too! 🙂
As well as playing Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers’, I’ve also seen Diana Rigg as Mrs. Bradley in ‘The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries’ which I enjoyed recently. She was also in the ‘Doctor Who’ episode ‘The Crimson Horror’ and was in the 1982 film ‘Evil Under The Sun’ with Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poriot. 🙂
I’ve also seen Diana Rigg in the 1975 ‘Morecambe & Wise Christmas Show’. Diana has done plenty of movies and TV shows in her career, including playing James Bond’s wife, would you believe, in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ and playing Olenna Tyrell in ‘Game of Thrones’. It’s an amazing career.
It’s so sad that Diana Rigg’s gone from us. Her legacy as an actress has been amazing. She’s survived by her daughter Rachael Stirling. I hope I’ll get to review ‘The Avengers’ TV show someday and I hope to honour her memory by watching her in ‘The Great Muppet Caper’ pretty soon for my blog. 🙂

This is a great tribute Tim.
I didn’t realise Diana was in the new All Creatures Great and Small. I think it’s going really well so far.
I have only just started watching episodes of the Avengers on ITV4 and I have just recorded one because it also features Anneke Wills. I did the same thing with an episode of Minder which starred Janet Fielding and Patrick Troughton.

Yeah I’m enjoying the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series so far. I hope there are a few more appearances of Diana Rigg as Mrs. Pumphrey in the rest of the series.
My family and I do have ‘The Avengers’ series on DVD. Hopefully I’ll get to watch the series again sometime and perhaps review the TV episodes on my blog as well as the Big Finish audios. I’ve seen Anneke Wills in one of the ‘Avengers’ episodes. Not seen ‘Minder’ yet, though I do know Janet Fielding did one of the episodes of that series.
