15. Fixed Point in History

SCENE #174 – INT – SECURITY BRIG, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Back on the Moonraker, Colin Wilson is held in the brig on Deck 13. Watched by a security officer, Wilson strolls about in his holding cell back and forth. He gets impatient and restless, before he stops in his tracks and turns to address the security officer watching him.

COLIN
(raises voice) “Hey! Excuse me? How long am I going to be kept in here?”

SECURITY OFFICER
“Until the Captain arrives. Although, he’s busy at the moment.”

COLIN
(snorts) “Busy with what?”

Firepower pounds on the ship from outside.

SECURITY OFFICER
“Busy with that, sir.”

COLIN
(ignorant) “That’s nothing compared to what I’ve got to say to the Captain! This is important! Let me out at once!”

SECURITY OFFICER
“I have my orders!”

COLIN
“Your orders are to send messages from prisoner to the Captain in order to request an audience. Now let me out to see the Captain!”

SECURITY OFFICER
“I’m sorry. I can’t do that, sir.”

COLIN
(gradually) “You’re new here, aren’t you?”

SECURITY OFFICER
“Yes, sir. The Captain requested me for this assignment a few days ago.”

More firepower pounds on the ship from outside. Just then, Colin groans sound as if in pain. He falls to the floor, holding his body. The security officer sees this and advances cautiously.

SECURITY OFFICER
(concerned) “Are you alright, sir?”

COLIN
(groans) “I…I feel so ill! My stomach’s hurting me!” (writhes in pain; pleads) “Help me! Please, help me!”

SECURITY OFFICER
“Do you need medical attention?”

COLIN
“Yes! Please…help me to sick bay!”

Reluctantly, the security officer steps forward; presses a button on a control panel beside Colin’s holding cell and shuts down the force-field. He then steps inside the cell to get Colin onto his feet. He helps him up gently.

SECURITY OFFICER
“There you are, sir. Just lean on me!”

COLIN
“Thank you.”

The security officer helps Colin, as they step out of the holding cell. Suddenly, Colin pushes the security officer aside and throws him back into the holding cell. Colin quickly presses a button on a control panel beside the holding cell to lock the security officer inside. Startled and baffled, the security officer gets back onto his feet and knocks his fist on the force-field. He receives an electric shock and reacts with pain.

SECURITY OFFICER
(agitated) “Hey! Hey! Let me out of here! Let me out of here!”

COLIN
(coolly) “One of the first lessons about your prisoners, officer. Never trust what they say. Especially if they wear the same uniform as you.” (Pause) “Now, if you’ll excuse me! I have a mission to complete.”

Colin then heads off and leaves the brig, with the electronic doors sliding open and close behind him. The security officer cries out for help.

SECURITY OFFICER
(cries) “Help! Somebody help me please! I’ve been locked in! Help! Help!”

The security officer gets no response.

SCENE #175 – INT – MICROS WAREHOUSE #5 – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Meanwhile, the Doctor; Nyssa; Billy; Elaine and Hilda follow Sandy the Globtol Ferroca. They run down a section of the warehouse where cargo boxes that contain the nitro-tritium grain are stacked on top of each other. They stop for a moment to catch their breath.

DOCTOR
“Is everyone alright?”

NYSSA; BILLY; HILDA; ELAINE
“Yes.”

DOCTOR
“Good. We’re now back to where you found us, Elaine. Next to these crates. So we should be close to the exit.”

ELAINE
“Where’s that furry bear got to now? He should have the sense to wait for us! Unless he’s a dumb animal.”

HILDA
(shrewdly; to Elaine) “His name’s Sandy. And he’s quite a fast runner when you get to know him. And he does have a sense and is not dumb. So don’t you start getting moany, missy!”

BILLY
“Elaine has a point though, Hilda. Sandy’s nowhere to be seen.”

NYSSA
(saddened) “I just can’t believe Nina’s gone. She was such a good friend to me. I know I didn’t know her very long but…”

DOCTOR
“Yes, Nyssa. I’m so sorry about Nina.”

BILLY
“I would have liked to have known her. The real Nina I mean.”

NYSSA
“Yes. Nina and Jack.”

Stomping footsteps then approach.

BLOCKADE
(shrieks) “WHERE ARE THEY?! WHERE ARE THEY?!!!!”

The Blockade then comes running up to them.

ELAINE
“And we’ll end up like Nina and Jack if we don’t get a move on!”

DOCTOR
“Agreed! Run!”

As they run on, the Blockade spots them.

BLOCKADE
(yells) “THERE THEY ARE! HEY! COME BACK!”

The Blockade chases after them as the Doctor and his friends run pass the walls of cargo stacked on top of each other. Billy then trips and falls into the crates of grain which topple over him. The Doctor; Nyssa; Elaine and Hilda stop and turn back to see Billy underneath the cargo.

NYSSA
(cries) “Billy!”

BILLY
“Ooh my head!”

DOCTOR
(cries) “Billy, come on!”

BILLY
(flustered) “I’m coming!”

ELAINE
“Look out!”

As Billy struggles out of the boxes of cargo on top of him, the Blockade advances towards him.

BLOCKADE
(laughs; taunts) “HA, HA! HA, HA! I’VE GOT YOU NOW! NOW I’VE GOT YOU!!!!”

The Blockade lunges menacingly towards Billy.

NYSSA
(cries) “No!”

Billy then grabs a sachet of grain from one of the broken boxes of cargo and aims it at the Blockade.

BILLY
(cries) “Here! Take this!”

Billy throws the grain at the Blockade’s face, but it ends up on his shoulder. Before Billy throws another sachet of grain, the Blockade utters out loud a horrible scream of pain. The Blockade stops in his advance on Billy.

BLOCKADE
(screams) “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?! LOOK WHAT YOU’VE DONE TO ME?!”

The Blockade’s skin fizzles loudly as it begins to dehydrate and lose its moisture. He then crumbles to the floor.

BLOCKADE
(shrieks) “YOU’VE…YOU’VE KILLED ME!”

BILLY
(protests) “I didn’t do anything! All I did was just…”

BLOCKADE
(screams) “I’M DYING! I’M DYING! NO!!!! NO MY BODY IS BREAKING UP! I CAN’T DIE! I CAN’T DIE! I CAN’T DIE!!!!!”

The Blockade however falls to the floor and his body has become withered. Astonished from seeing this, the Doctor; Nyssa; Elaine and Hilda step forward to investigate. Nyssa and Hilda help Billy out of the broken crates of grain, whilst the Doctor and Elaine examine the Blockade’s crumbled body.

NYSSA
(concerned) “Are you alright, Billy?”

BILLY
“Yes Nyssa. I’m fine.”

HILDA
“No bones broken, darling?”

BILLY
(puzzled) “No. Just my sense of comprehension. What did I just do?”

The Doctor and Elaine examine the Blockade’s body further.

DOCTOR
“You killed him. That’s what you did, Billy.”

BILLY
(baffled) “But I couldn’t have killed him! All I did was just throw some grain at him.”

DOCTOR
(realises) “Exactly!”

The Doctor goes to one of the crumbled crates and takes out a sachet of the nitro-tritium grain from it.

DOCTOR
“These crates! Containing this grain.”

NYSSA
“The nitro-tritium grain!”

DOCTOR
“When Billy threw that grain, it instantly killed him.” (to Billy) “What did you do that for, Billy?”

BILLY
“Well I just wanted to cause a distraction by throwing this grain so that I can put him off his pursuit of us. And to give me a chance to get out from all of these crates.” (Pause) “Sorry Doctor. I didn’t mean to kill him.”

DOCTOR
“Sorry?! It was brilliant!”

ELAINE
“What do you mean, Doctor?”

DOCTOR
“These sachets of grain are the antigen to the Dwaxi drug! They must be!”

ELAINE
“How can you be sure of that?”

DOCTOR
“The sachet of grain that Billy threw ended up on the Dwaxi’s shoulder.”

BILLY
“Yes. I meant to throw it at his face.”

NYSSA
(realises) “And the shoulder is where the drug is injected through each Dwaxi trooper.”

DOCTOR
“And it’s where the grain hit the Blockade, as that’s the injection point of the procured Yentias drug in his shoulder.”

HILDA
“It could be a coincidence.”

DOCTOR
“It could be, yes.”

The Doctor picks up a sachet of grain from the crates of boxes and a tube of Yentias from his coat pocket. He examines them each in turn as he holds the items in his hand.

DOCTOR
But I’m determined to experiment on this. With this grain…and this drug…once we get back to the TARDIS.”

ELAINE
“And back to the Moonraker.”

DOCTOR
“Yes. And that.”

Suddenly there’s a roar. The Doctor and his friends look to see Sandy summoning at them with his roars at the far end of the cargo load of crates.

HILDA
(cheers) “There’s Sandy! He’s calling us to go to him!”

DOCTOR
“Good timing! Come on!”

The heroes run on to meet and follow Sandy, as they leave the remains of the Blockade and the crumbled crates behind them.

SCENE #176 – EXT – MICROS WAREHOUSE ESTATE – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Outside on the warehouse estate, the Dalek-Dwaxi battle takes place.

DALEKS
(chants) “EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!”

DWAXI
(chants) “Death is victory! Death is victory! Death is victory!”

The battle is frantic, as Dwaxi troopers and Daleks battle against each other. Daleks open fire with their weapons in every direction at the Dwaxi troopers. The Dwaxi troopers fight like animals, as they howl and leap into the air before landing on top of the Daleks and smashing their casings into pieces. Some Dwaxi troopers fire their tornado-charged weapons at the Daleks, blowing up their casings and the mutant creatures inside in an instant. The Daleks retaliate by killing one to three Dwaxi troopers, who scream out loud in agony before collapsing to the floor. But the Daleks’ killing of the Dwaxi is not as great as the Dwaxi’s killing of the Daleks. More Daleks get blown up and smashed to pieces by the Dwaxi.

DALEKS
(chants) “EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!”

DWAXI
(chants) “Death is victory! Death is victory! Death is victory!”

Meanwhile, Jack fights the Daleks, using his rifle to pound upon their casing. One Dalek advances Jack, as it raises it gun-stick at him to open fire.

DALEK FIGHTER
“YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!”

Jack cries out loud angrily. He raises his Dwaxi rifle and brings it down onto the Dalek’s casing, smashing it with tremendous rage. The Dalek squirms once its been attacked.

JACK
(shouts; angrily) “You killed Nina! You all killed Nina! My friend from my own ship!”

Jack breaks the Dalek’s eyestalk off its dome with his Dwaxi rifle. The Dalek goes into a panic.

DALEK FIGHTER
(panics) “MY VISION IS IMPAIRED! I CANNOT SEE! I CANNOT SEE! MY VISION IS IMPAIRED! I CANNOT SEE! I CANNOT SEE! WARNING! EMERGENCY!”

The Dalek’s casing then gets smashed up. Once the casing is open, Jack raises his gun and smacks it onto the Dalek mutant creature inside. The Dalek mutant squirms agonised, before its tentacles and body crumble dead inside the casing. Once Jack has finished attacking his Dalek opponent, he looks to see the other Dwaxi troopers fighting their Dalek opponents. Jack pants and grits, as his rage overwhelms his sanity. He roars with horrendous intensity.

JACK
(roars) “You murderers! You Dalek murderers!”

Jack leaps into the air and takes on more Daleks. He fires his Dwaxi rifle and screams with rage.

SCENE #177 – EXT – YONDAMUS IV LANDING GROUND – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Meanwhile, the Doctor; Nyssa; Billy; Elaine and Hilda with Sandy manage to get out of the warehouse estate as the Dalek-Dwaxi battle goes on. They’re a fair distance away from the battle as they return to Yondamus IV’s landing ground. They turn the corner and see the TARDIS parked before them.

NYSSA
(thrilled) “There it is! The TARDIS!”

DOCTOR
“Exactly where we left it!”

BILLY
“Thank goodness no Daleks and Dwaxi are here to meet us!”

ELAINE
“I should think not!”

Hilda then heads off in another direction with Sandy joining her. Billy stops her.

BILLY
(cries) “Hilda? Hilda, where are you going?”

DOCTOR
“Mrs. H, you must get into my TARDIS!”

Hilda stops and turns back to address them.

HILDA
“I’m not coming with you. I’m going to go back to that hut me and Boco used to live in.” (to Billy) “Back to where you met us, Billy. Somebody has to look after these kids.”

NYSSA
(concerned) “But you’ll get killed, Hilda!”

HILDA
“Oh don’t worry about me. Sandy will take care of me!” (to Sandy) “Won’t you, Sandy?”

Sandy grunts affirmatively.

HILDA
“After all! There’s no better beasty I would need protecting me than Sandy here.”

BILLY
“But…it’s miles away. You can’t go all the way back [to]…”

HILDA
(interrupts) “Oh I could do with the run. Need to get the weight off.” (jokingly) “Unless there’s another baby on the way.”

BILLY
“Hilda! This planet. There are Daleks and Dwaxi here. You can’t [just…]”

HILDA
(interrupts) “Billy. If you knew how hard it is for a mother or a widower to look after her kids, then maybe you understand.”

BILLY
(apologetically) “Oh, Hilda. I didn’t mean to be disrespectful…”

HILDA
(interrupts) “Billy, I have to stay here. Boco’s gone. And if he were here right now he’d say look after our children in any way you can. This battle will soon be over. And these kids I’ve got in this cot. They need me. And I have to be with them to look after them.”

NYSSA
“Surely we could give you a lift somewhere, Hilda.”

HILDA
“My place is here. With the children. On this planet. And I will look after them. Whilst there’s still hope.” (Pause) “This is the best I can call home. And it’s where I would like to take care of my children as soon as this has ended.”

BILLY
(pleadingly) “Hilda…”

HILDA
“Don’t try and stop me, Billy. My mind is made up.”

Moment of silence.

BILLY
(stammers) “I don’t know what to say.” (Pause; saddened) “I’ll miss you, Hilda.”

HILDA
(enamoured) “Oh I’ll miss you too, Billy. It’s been great knowing you.”

Both Billy and Hilda hug each other. Nyssa approaches Sandy.

NYSSA
“Goodbye, Sandy. Thank you for protecting me.”

Sandy whines slightly as he seems upset. Once Billy finishes hugging Hilda, the Doctor approaches and shakes Hilda by the hand.

DOCTOR
“Take care of yourself, Hilda.”

HILDA
“Thank you, Doctor.”

DOCTOR
“I’m sorry it had to come to this!”

HILDA
“I know.”

Moment of silence.

HILDA
(to Sandy) “Come on, Sandy! We must be on our way!”

Sandy grunts as he leads the way for Hilda and her children to follow him.

HILDA
(to others, cheerfully) “Bye all!”

Hilda runs off with her children as she follows Sandy back to their home. The battle echoes in the distance as they go. Nyssa comforts Billy whilst he’s saddened.

NYSSA
(reassuringly) “She’ll be alright, Billy. Try not to worry.”

BILLY
(solemnly) “I’ll try, Nyssa. I’ll try.”

Meanwhile, Elaine prods on the TARDIS door.

ELAINE
(anxiously) “Doctor! We really must get back to the Moonraker at once!”

DOCTOR
(self-assured) “Yes, of course. We’ll need to use one of your medical labs, Elaine.”

ELAINE
“Why?”

DOCTOR
“Because this grain and drug may contain the key to solving the riddle of the Dwaxi.”

The Doctor turns the key into the lock of the TARDIS door. The door opens as the Doctor; Nyssa; Billy and Elaine get inside. Once inside, the TARDIS door closes behind them. The TARDIS soon dematerialises as it grinds and whooshes away. The police box vanishes off into time and space again, whilst the Dalek-Dwaxi battle continues on Yondamus IV.

SCENE #178 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
In outer space, battle still rages between the Daleks and the Dwaxi. Dalek ships get blown up by the Dwaxi, although the Dwaxi ships maintain permanent damage on their hulls as they catch fire. The two interlocking planets of Yondamus slowly collide with each other. Yondamus Prime gets into closer proximity with Yondamus IV, as the Daleks and the Dwaxi are caught in-between the collision of planetary atmospheres. Nearby, the starship of the Moonraker watches the battle from a distance.

SCENE #179 – INT – MEDICAL LAB #4, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
In medical lab #4 of the Moonraker, Captain Sulley enters to sees the Doctor hard at work with Nyssa; Billy and Elaine beside him. The Doctor uses a microscope and a microscopic plate to experiment with some samples of the Yentias drug and the nitro-tritium grain.

CAPTAIN
“Doctor? What may I ask are you up to?”

DOCTOR
(cheerfully) “Ah, Captain! Glad you’re able to come and witness this. And to answer your question, I’m doing what you asked me to do. Finding the antigen.”

CAPTAIN
(puzzled) “Commander Thomas, what is the meaning of this? Why are you letting the Doctor use one of our labs?”

ELAINE
“The Doctor discovered that the nitro-tritium grain meant for us by the Yondamons reacts to the drug used by the Dwaxi.”

CAPTAIN
“Drug?”

ELAINE
“I explain later.”

Meanwhile, Nyssa hands the Doctor the transparent microscopic plate with the Yentias drug sample on it.

NYSSA
“The drug sample has been placed on this plate, Doctor. Now you need to add the grain to it and see how they fuse together on the plate.”

DOCTOR
“Yes, Nyssa. And it just needs a bit of delicacy.”

The Doctor takes the slates from Nyssa.

BILLY
(bewildered) “I don’t understand this. How can the grain cause a reaction to the drug?”

NYSSA
(to Billy) “The grain contains nitrogen and a radioactive isotope of hydrogen Billy, remember? Both are subsequent elements to form water.” (to Doctor) “So the hydrogen aspects of the grain must affect the drug somehow, Doctor.”

DOCTOR
“We shall soon find out, Nyssa.” (Pause) “Now…let’s add a little nitro-tritium grain to the Yentias drug sample, shall we?”

The Doctor adds a droplet of grain to the drug sample on the plate from a chemical tube.

DOCTOR
“Okay! Let’s have a look in the microscope.”

The Doctor looks through the microscope to see his findings. A moment of silence.

CAPTAIN
“Well, Doctor?”

DOCTOR
“Just a second…”

Taken aback, Captain Sulley sighs irritated. Eventually

DOCTOR
“Nyssa, take a look through there.”

Nyssa takes the Doctor’s place and looks through the microscope to see. As she looks, a small sizzling comes from the plate underneath the microscope.

NYSSA
“The drug material is dissolving. The particles in the endogenous biochemical substance are losing its molecular structure like cellular diffusion.”

BILLY
“Hang on! Let me look!”

Billy moves to where Nyssa and looks through the microscope to see the drug dissolving.

DOCTOR
“The hydrogen particles contained in the grain are causing the drug fluid to evaporate. That’s why we saw the Blockade reacting the way he did when he died. He was losing the drug because of it evaporating.”

BILLY
(surprised) “Golly!”

NYSSA
(impressed) “Very good, Doctor.”

DOCTOR
“Thank you.”

ELAINE
“So all we need is the nitro-tritium grain to weaken the Dwaxi.”

CAPTAIN
“That sounds fine by me. We’ll have the ingredients of hydrogen and nitrogen from the grain on Yondamus Four and use it against them.”

BILLY
(protests) “Excuse me, but when I threw that sachet of grain at that Dwaxi brute he shrivelled to death. He was a brute yes, but that was an accident. You’re not going to do the same thing I did but twenty times over more on purpose, are you?”

CAPTAIN
“Unless you have a better suggestion.”

BILLY
(protests) “But you can’t do that! That’d be murder!”

ELAINE
“They murdered Jack and Nina by turning them into Dwaxi. They stole their lives!”

CAPTAIN
“Exactly! And I want those Dwaxi back to where they came from or dead on the spot!”

NYSSA
“But that’s horrible! They’re living beings as much as we are.”

BILLY
“Yes! So if you think we’re going to let you use that grain to kill those Dwaxi mongrels then I’m afraid…”

DOCTOR
(interrupts) “Don’t talk to our hosts like that, Billy; Nyssa! It’s their decision.”

BILLY
(shocked) “What?!”

NYSSA
(shocked) “Doctor!”

DOCTOR
“Let them think what they decide. After all, we shouldn’t interfere.”

CAPTAIN
“Thank you Doctor. You’re very understanding.”

ELAINE
“Captain, if we’re to have these cargo crates of grain sent up to the Moonraker we have to move fast, otherwise we won’t get our chance with all those Daleks and Dwaxi fighting each other. They’re still battling it out in space and on Yondamus IV.”

CAPTAIN
“We won’t need crates of grain, Elaine. All we need is to charge up the photon missiles with water. [I want those missiles at a setting of hydrogen and nitrogen contained within.]”

As Sulley and Elaine discuss this, the Doctor moves Nyssa and Billy to one side to talk to them.

BILLY
“Doctor, what do you think you’re doing?”

DOCTOR
“It wouldn’t really matter Billy, if they were going to cause murder. They’ll soon be gone from history.”

NYSSA
“Gone from history?”

DOCTOR
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you two. We’re in the midst of a fixed point in time. This ship and its crew. They’re part of a historical event.”

NYSSA
“You mean…they’re going to become heroes.”

DOCTOR
“Not exactly heroes. More like reported missing or lost.”

NYSSA
“They’re going to die?!”

BILLY
“Die?!”

DOCTOR
“Perhaps. With the Daleks and the Dwaxi to cause the incident.” (Pause) “Captain Sulley and the crew of the starship Moonraker were one of the greatest mysteries of the twenty-sixth century. They were lost in Yondamus space, which disappeared off the face of the star-maps in the universe.”

NYSSA
“Disappeared? How do you mean, disappeared?”

DOCTOR
“That was the mystery. There was no sign of where the once great Yondamus Empire went. It just vanished into thin air.” (Pause) “But we’ve been running around all this time with the Daleks and the Dwaxi as part of casual events. I understand now why they disappeared.”

NYSSA
(realises) “That rift. The crack in time and space. The way the Dwaxi got into this universe.”

DOCTOR
“Yes! The rift is expanding. And some major catastrophe is going to take place to cause an aulacogen – the weak point within the boundaries of this universe – to take its toll within our reality…and take the Moonraker with it!”

BILLY
“Then we must help them! We must tell them this and start an evacuation of this ship…”

DOCTOR
“No, Billy! That’s not what we’re going to do!”

BILLY
“What?! We can’t just leave them to die!”

NYSSA
“The Doctor didn’t say they were going to die, Billy!”

BILLY
“But that’s what it is, isn’t it? They get lost in another part of space and they’re reported dead. Like with Amelia Earhardt! But we’re here to rescue them aren’t we, Doctor? That’s what we do, isn’t it?”

DOCTOR
“Not this time, Billy. The Moonraker is a fixed point in time.”

BILLY
“What does that mean?!”

DOCTOR
“It’s fixed, Billy! It can’t be changed! What happens with the Moonraker must happen!”

BILLY
(challengingly) “Says who?”

DOCTOR
(retorts) “Says me!”

BILLY
“Well I say no! This crew’s going to die, you say? That’s not going to happen!”

NYSSA
“Billy, please! The Doctor…”

BILLY
“No, Nyssa, I mean it! I’m not going to let this happen! I’m going to help these people whether you like it or not, Doctor!”

DOCTOR
“No you’re not, Billy! Because you; Nyssa and I are going back to the TARDIS!”

BILLY
“But Doctor…

Just then, an intercom comes on in the medical lab.

MALE LIEUTENANT (V’O)
(urgently) “Bridge to Captain Sulley! Bridge to Captain Sulley!”

The Captain goes to the intercom to answer it, as he switches it on.

CAPTAIN
(through intercom) “Sulley here. What is it?”

MALE LIEUTENANT (V’O)
“Bad news, sir. Commander Wilson has escaped from the brig.”

ELAINE
“What?”

CAPTAIN
(through intercom) “Where is he now?”

MALE LIEUTENANT (V’O)
“Security reports he’s on his way to Engineering. We’re sending the troops in now.”

CAPTAIN
(through intercom) “Acknowledged. Sulley out”

Captain Sulley switches off the intercom.

CAPTAIN
(to Elaine) “Elaine, I’m going to take the Moonraker into orbital position above  Yondamus Four. You go to engineering and sort out Wilson.”

ELAINE
“Aye, Captain.”

Elaine heads off and leaves the medical lab. Captain Sulley turns to the Doctor; Nyssa and Billy.

CAPTAIN
“You’ve done so much to help us Doctor. Thank you. You shall be commemorated back at Earth Command. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the support you’ve given us to beat these Dwaxi villains. One less enemy to worry about.”

Captain Sulley then leaves the medical lab. The Doctor, Nyssa and Billy remain behind.

NYSSA
“Can’t you save them, Doctor? You knew this was going to happen. Surely the TARDIS can save…”

DOCTOR
(interrupts) “Don’t ask me to do that, Nyssa. I’ve told you once before there are things that can be never be changed. Not with the TARDIS.”

BILLY
(protests) “Doctor, you can’t let them die!”

DOCTOR
(frustrated) “Do you think I don’t want to save them, Billy? Believe me, I do. But at this moment when…”

Moment of silence.

NYSSA
“Doctor. What is it? What’s wrong?”

DOCTOR
(realises; disturbed) “Oh no! No; no; no!”

BILLY
“What’s the matter, Doctor?”

DOCTOR
“Wilson – in Engineering! The perfect opportunity for the Daleks!”

SCENE #180 – INT – ENGINEERING, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Meanwhile, in Engineering, Wilson types away at a computer console very rapidly. A while later, he stops typing and takes a look at his computer screen.

COLIN
(satisfied) “There. Done and dusted.”

Colin then presses a button to activate the intercom on his right, as he speaks into it.

COLIN
(through intercom) “This is Wilson to Yondamus Prime. Wilson to Yondamus Prime. Do you read me, Yondamus Prime?”

EMPEROR DALEK (V’O)
(booms) “THIS IS THE EMPEROR. SPEAK, HUMAN.”

COLIN
(through intercom) “The Moonraker shields are ready to be penetrated! I shall send you the shield vulnerability frequency sequence to you now!”

EMPEROR DALEK (V’O)
(booms) “EXCELLENT. THE NEW SUPREME DALEK SHALL BE SENT TO YOU IMMEDIATELY WITH A SQUADRON OF UNITS READY FOR DISEMBARKATION AND INFILTRATION…”

SCENE #181 – INT – EMPEROR DALEK’S CHAMBER – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT

EMPEROR DALEK
(continues; booms; through intercom) “ANTICIPATE ARRIVAL OF DALEKS AT YOUR PRESENT LOCATION.”

WILSON (V’O)
“Understood, your excellency!”

EMPEROR DALEK
(booms; through intercom) “DESIGNATED DALEKS SHALL BE WITH YOU SOON!” (barks) “RAISE COMMUNICATIONS BARRIER”

The Emperor Dalek ends the communication at his end, in his chamber on Yondamus Prime.

EMPEROR DALEK
(booms; to himself) “THEN YOUR REAL PURPOSE FOR THE DALEKS SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED!”

Suddenly an alarm blares off loudly. The Daleks, including the Emperor’s guards in the chamber, skittle and scatter about again in a panic.

DALEK EMPEROR GUARD
(panics) “ALERT! ALERT! LOSING CONTROL OF INTERNAL SYSTEMS. FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY IMMOBILE!”

EMPEROR DALEK
(booms; panics) “WHAT IS HAPPENING?”

DALEK EMPEROR GUARD
“PLANETARY STRUCTURE DEGRADING! ABOUT TO COLLIDE INTO ORBIT WITH YONDAMUS FOUR WITH IMMEDIATE IMPACT!”

EMPEROR DALEK
(booms) “BREAK THROUGH THE SHIELD BARRIERS OF EARTH MOON-RAKER IMMEDIATELY! SEND THE SUPREME DALEK MARK TWO’S SQUADRON INSTANTLY!”

DALEK EMPEROR GUARD
“PENETRATION OF SHIELD BARRIERS OF EARTH SHIP MOON-RAKER IS ABOUT TO COMMENCE!”

SCENE #182 – INT – MAIN BRIDGE, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Back on the bridge of the Moonraker, Captain Sulley takes command as he addresses the Male Lieutenant.

CAPTAIN
“Lieutenant. Are those hydrogen-charged missiles ready for launch?”

MALE LIEUTENANT
“Yes, sir. Ready and waiting for your command to be fired!”

CAPTAIN
“Good.”

FEMALE LIEUTENANT
“Captain! Sensors report that collision of both planets in space is imminent. The Dalek planet is going to crash into the Dwaxi planet, sir.”

CAPTAIN
“I don’t care about that. Right now I want those Dwaxi brutes to get what they deserve.” (to Male Lieutenant) “Prepare to fire!”

MALE LIEUTENANT
“Aye, sir!”

Moment of silence.

CAPTAIN
“On my mark!” (Pause) “Fire!”

SCENE #183 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
The Moonraker fires its hydrogen-charged missiles. The missiles shoot off for the surface of Yondamus IV, as the Dalek-Dwaxi space battle goes on. The missiles hit the planet’s atmosphere and explode one by one across many parts of Yondamus IV’ planet surface.

SCENE #184 – EXT – MICROS WAREHOUSE ESTATE – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Sprinkles and droplets of water rain down from the hydrogen-charged missiles exploding in the atmosphere during the Dalek-Dwaxi battle on the planet. Once the sprinkles and droplets of water hit the Dwaxi troopers, they scream out in rage; pain; anger and agony  all at the same time. The Dwaxi troopers run about across the plains of the Micros Industrial Estate. However, the Daleks are unaffected by the rain and exterminate Dwaxi troopers in their path.

DALEKS
(chants) “EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!”

Jack dies from the attack of water from above in the sky. He wriggles away on the floor, shrieking in pain.

JACK
(shrieks; in pain) “Mum! Mum! MUM!!”

Whilst the Daleks attack and the Dwaxi diminish by water particles in the air, Targah and Gabrog get under a shelter and survive. They see the chaos before them as they’re under shelter.

TARGAH
(shouts; angrily) “What’s going on, Gabrog? Why are our troopers being slaughtered by water?”

GABROG
(shouts; angrily) “Don’t ask me, Commander! I don’t know!”

TARGAH
(shouts; angrily) “Don’t know?! You must know! You know everything!”

A sound comes from Gabrog’s info-pod. He takes it out; looks at it and reads the information on it.

TARGAH
(shouts; angrily) “Well, Gabrog?! What does your info-pod say?”

GABROG
(shouts; angrily) “It’s the Moonraker, Targah! They’re firing missiles filled with hydrogen and nitrogen! That’s why our Dwaxi troopers are dying!”

TARGAH
(shouts; angrily) “Then they must be stopped at once! Order a Dwaxi vessel to penetrate the Moonraker immediately!”

GABROG
(shouts; angrily) “Yes! Those Moonraker goons should know better than to meddle in things they don’t understand!”

SCENE #185 – INT – ENGINEERING, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – NIGHT
Back in Engineering on the Moonraker, Elaine enters with a security patrol of officers by her side. They’re about to apprehend Colin as he sits in a chair at a computer console.

ELAINE
“Hold it right there, Wilson! Get away from that control panel!”

COLIN
(chuckles) “It’s too late, Elaine. I’ve already achieved what the Daleks have asked me to do!”

The ship shudders as firepower pounds on the ship from outside.

ELAINE
“It sounds like we’re caught up in the midst of the battle.”

COLIN
“Not quite, Elaine. You see, I’ve been giving something away to our Daleky friends.”

ELAINE
“What have you done, Colin?”

COLIN
“I told you! Exactly what the Daleks have asked me to do! Let them come in!”

Just then, the Doctor, Nyssa and Billy enter as they run in.

DOCTOR
“Commander Thomas. Listen to me! Whatever he’s doing, don’t let him make contact with the Daleks. He’ll give the shield vulnerability frequency code and that will mean…”

Suddenly a teleport takes place in Engineering. The Daleks beam in and materialise fully, as they raise their guns threateningly at the Doctor; Nyssa; Billy and Elaine.

NYSSA
“Doctor! It’s too late!”

BILLY
“The Daleks are here again!”

COLIN
(chuckles) “Sorry, Doctor. I’m afraid I already told them.”

AGENT DALEK
“STAY WHERE YOU ARE! DO NOT MOVE!”

A security officer fires his phaser at the Daleks.

DOCTOR
“No, no, man! Don’t fire!”

But the security officer’s firepower isn’t effective on the Daleks, as no dent is made on their casings.

SECURITY OFFICER
(realises) “Oh no! Oh dear!”

AGENT DALEK
“EXTERMINATE!”

ELAINE
(cries) “No!”

The Daleks open fire at the security officer. The security officer cries out in pain, as he gets electrocuted. He then crumbles to the floor. Another security officer tries to fire his gun in anger at the Daleks before the Doctor stops him.

DOCTOR
(cries) “No stop! It’s no good!”

AGENT DALEK
“YOU ARE ALL OUR PRISONERS! THE DALEKS ARE IN COMMAND OF THE MOONRAKER AGAIN!”

The Doctor; Nyssa; Billy; Elaine and the security officers are powerless as the Daleks with Colin take control of the Moonraker.
