Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Are you getting frustrated about the way things are in the world with the current pandemic going on? – Please keep safe. I certainly am. Have no fear though. I’ve got plenty to keep my readers/viewers occupied whilst we’re going through this difficult time. I hope to keep you happy and entertained in October.
For the past month, I celebrated ‘Bradley’s Basement’s 5th anniversary with a ‘BB@5 Anniversary Celebration Blog-a-Thon’ and a special anniversary blog post for people to enjoy. As we get started into my blog’s sixth year, I’m hoping there’ll be plenty of views; reviews and possibly ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ for people to check out. Let’s see what we’ve got in store for October and beyond, shall we?
In September, I shared my latest ‘Doctor Who: Zorbius’ story called ‘The Child of Death’ featuring the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack. For October, I’ll be sharing ‘The Forest of Magicians’ with the Tenth Doctor and for November, I’ll be sharing ‘The Horror of Time’ with the Eleventh Doctor. I’m currently working on the next story after that called ‘The Saviour of the Daleks’ with the Twelfth Doctor. I hope to have that story uploaded to my blog soon in time for December this year. I’ll soon be working on the last ‘Zorbius’ story of the series called ‘The Two Salvadors’ with the Thirteenth Doctor. There’s bound to be more ‘Doctor Who’ short stories coming to my blog so stay tuned!
I’ve decided not to share full-length reviews on Series 12 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jodie Whittaker this year after all. Instead of sharing them in November, I’ll be sharing them in March 2021 as part of a special ‘Doctor Who’ marathon season called ‘March of the Thirteenth Doctor’ which will include reviews on Series 11, Series 12 and any other Thirteenth Doctor-related stories. ‘Revolution of the Daleks’ will be part of the ‘March of the Thirteenth Doctor’ marathon too once the story comes out on DVD and Blu-ray.
I’ve received the new ‘Fury From The Deep’ animation story on Blu-ray and have also purchased ‘The Power of the Daleks’ Special Edition DVD recently. I hope to update my reviews on those stories soon with the animation versions. I’ve also received the ‘Great British Car Journeys’ DVD with Peter Davison and Christopher Timothy and hope to add new reviews on the episodes soon too.
In terms of ‘Doctor Who’ audios by Big Finish, I’ve reviewed stories such as ‘Singularity’ with Peter Davison as well as ‘The Brood of Erys’, ‘Scavenger’ and ‘The Widow’s Assassin’ with Colin Baker. I’m hoping to share my review on ‘Masters of Earth’ with Colin Baker next. I’m still preparing my reviews for ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season in December this year. I’m hoping to add my reviews on ‘Doctor Who and the Keeper of Traken’ audiobook, ‘Downward Spiral’ and ‘Thin Time’/’Madquake’ in time before the end of the year.
In September, I’ve been watching the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series on Channel 5, starring Nicholas Ralph, Samuel West and Callum Woodhouse. I’ve seen five of the six episodes so far and have greatly enjoyed them. I’m looking forward to the sixth episode next week. Sadly, Diana Rigg, who played Mrs. Pumphrey in the new ‘All Creatures’ series as well as Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers’ 1960s TV series passed away in September, which is very sad indeed. She’s very good as Mrs. Pumphrey in the new ‘All Creatures’ series.
I finished my reviews on Series 2 of ‘Grantchester’ on DVD back in September with a quick TV episode review on Series 2, Episode 6. I’m currently enjoying the Series 3 DVD and have done quick reviews on the 2016 Christmas Special, Series 3, Episode 1, Series 3, Episode 2 (featuring a special guest appearance of Peter Davison 😀 ) and Series 3, Episode 3. I’ve reviewed all eight episodes of Series 5 of ‘The Brittas Empire’ which also includes the 1994 Christmas Special. I’m currently enjoying watching Series 4 of ‘Call the Midwife’ and am nearly finished with watching and reviewing Season 5 of ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’. I’m looking forward to the 2020 Christmas Special of ‘Call the Midwife’ this year since Peter Davison is making a special guest star appearance in it. 😀
I’ve enjoyed watching ‘Muppets Now’ on Disney+. In September, I shared my reviews on the second, third, fourth and fifth episodes and I’m looking forward to seeing the sixth episode next. I’m hoping to watch episodes of the 2015 ‘Muppets’ series on Disney+ soon. I’ve also enjoyed watching ‘Harry Hill’s World of TV’ on BBC2 and have shared my reviews on the third, fourth, fifth and sixth episodes. Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing quick DVD reviews on the five ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ DVDs I’ve got at home.
In terms of movies I’ve seen at home and not at the cinema, I saw ‘Man of Steel’ with Henry Cavill. I greatly enjoyed that film again from seeing it the first time at the cinema in 2013. I also continued to be in ‘Muppet mode’ with watching films like ‘The Great Muppet Caper’ (featuring Diana Rigg) and ‘The Muppets’ 2011 film. I’ve also seen the 2016 remake of ‘Pete’s Dragon’, which I enjoyed.
I’ve shared my thoughts on the new movie trailer for ‘No Time To Die’, which is the next upcoming final film to star Daniel Craig as James Bond. I’ve done my reviews on the films featured in ‘The Bing Crosby Collection’ and I’ve shared my Disney reviews on ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Return to Neverland’. Pretty soon in October, I’ll be starting my ‘Mission: Impossible Film Review Season’ featuring the six films starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt.
It’s Spider-Man time again as I’ve started sharing reviews on the original 1960s cartoon show. I’ve shared reviews on episodes from Season 1 including Volumes 1, 2 and 3 and from Season 2 including Volume 1. I’m hoping to share more reviews from Volumes 2 and 3 of Season 2 and Volumes 1 and 2 of Season 3 soon.
I’m preparing my upcoming ‘Advent Calendar’ for December 2020 as we speak. More details will be revealed in November’s ‘Basement News’ blog post. I’m currently looking forward to seeing ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 on Disney+ in October after seeing the trailer for it. I’ll also be sharing my next video review on ‘Dr. Fifth’, the fifth book in the ‘Dr. Who’/’Mr. Men’ book series. Stay tuned for when that comes.
Things do seem grim in many parts of the world at present. But I live in hope that things will be better by the time we come to 2021. I’m looking forward to Christmas this year. It won’t be the same as last year but I’m hoping to spend some time with my parents and I’m looking forward to a positive future.
Many thanks to everyone who has supported my blog!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
