Quick DVD Review – ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold 3’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Once again, it’s time for another ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ DVD review and it’s on ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold 3’, which was released in 2010. I enjoyed this DVD very much, although I did prefer the second half more than the first half. The second half does have funnier segments compared to the first half.

So what did I like about this DVD then? Well, I found the Paul Burrell Dalek from ‘American Princess’ quite amusing. I always like it when Harry Hill adds in little ‘Doctor Who’-related jokes in ‘TV Burp’. 😀 I also found the entertainment parts of someone singing “Kumbaya” from ‘Restaurant in Our Living Room’ quite funny. This is especially when the guy singing comes up out of Harry’s ‘door table’.

The ‘Emmerdale’ section was pretty hilarious, especially with the Knitted Character on fire when inside the church. That’s one of my favourite clips from ‘TV Burp’ which I’ve shared on my blog already. I was so glad to see it on ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold 3’ as I’ve watched it a lot on YouTube. 😀

I liked the ‘River Cottage’ segment where Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall tried his new pudding – was it apple crumble with ice cream, I’m not sure. I found it funny when Harry tried it and he seemed to give the impression that he was enjoying it before he said, “Don’t like it!” It’s kind of that humour I like. 🙂

I enjoyed the ‘Natural Born Sellers’ segment where a team try to sell a new kind of cleaning mitt. They use a ‘special weapon’ called Mr. G-Love which is like a glove suit someone has to wear. I found it funny when Harry got annoyed by salesperson Gavin getting G-Love’s name wrong, saying “Hello, I’m Mr. Glove!” a lot. In the end, Harry thwacked Gavin with the spare car door, which was unexpectedly funny. 😀

I also liked the ‘Young Butcher of the Year’ segment which was shown on BBC Three in 2009. I also consider that to be one of my favourite clips from ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’ and even included it as Day 8 of ‘Bradley’s Basement‘s Advent Calendar 2016. I still laugh at the ‘Young Butcher of the Year’ clip.

I found the ‘Last Chance to See’ segment with Stephen Fry pretty amusing. This includes the “Waiter, there’s a Fry in my soup!” joke as well as the Victorian-looking kakapo performing some mating ritual on somebody’s head. It’s funny when it got followed up in an amusing clip in the ‘EastEnders’ segment.

Like I said, I didn’t find the first half particularly funny as the second half. I didn’t like the ‘FIGHT’ joke at the end of the first half where Harry got sprayed by a cow’s wee rinse as well as cowpat. That to me was too disgusting for comfort. I would’ve preferred Harry Potter fighting Tom Baker’s Doctor. 😀

Or even better! Have Mr. Blobby fight Phil from ‘EastEnders’! 😀 The DVD comes to an end with Susan Boyle…or ‘Su-Bo’ fighting Harry Hill as well as Heather from ‘EastEnders’ (Harry’s Heather) as well as the Knitted Character in a sumo wrestling match. This is before Su-Bo and Heather sing ‘Crazy Horses’ at the end. I wasn’t particularly inspired by that closing song. I wish for a better one. 😀

Like the ‘Walking the Dinosaur’ song performed by Jim in the outtakes of ‘TV Burp Gold 2’ or even a Christmas song. Incidentally, I did like the ‘Freaky Eaters’ segment where DJ Christopher Hawkins was afraid of fruit and veg and he was persuaded to hold an asparagus. Harry making fun of him was funny.

The extra burps featured on ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold 3’ include ‘Behind the Burp’, which is a making-of documentary about the making of ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’. There’s also ‘The K-Factor’ story, originally broadcast in early 2010 and the hopefuls gallery of ‘The K-Factor’ which is 26 minutes long.

‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold 3’ is worth seeing for the Knitted Character on fire sketch from ‘Emmerdale’ as well as the ‘Young Butcher of the Year’ segment. I don’t think it’s as good as the first two ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp Gold’ DVDs, but there are some entertaining moments to be enjoyed here.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
