Quick ‘Muppets’ Review – ‘Single All the Way’ (The Muppets) (2015-16)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The latest ‘Muppets’ episode I’ve seen of the 2015 series has a Christmas theme about it. This is very fitting, especially as we’re about to enter the Christmas period at this point. 2020 has been a pretty miserable year for most of us and it’s great to be cheered up by watching this festive ‘Muppet’ show.

In the episode, the Muppets prepare a holiday special for ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy’ with Mindy Kaling, an actress and a comedian. But as Kermit and Scooter discover, Mindy Kaling can’t sing whilst she’s doing a duo with Miss Piggy. They try to find an alternative to the musical number she’s doing.

Kermit comes up with a comedy sketch routine for Mindy Kaling as she’s to perform it with Gonzo the Greet, Rizzo the Rat and Pepe the King Prawn. Mindy seems to approve of the comedy sketch routine, hoping to do it as well as that song she’s singing with Miss Piggy. Not what Kermit intended.

It also turns out Becky’s broken up with Fozzie Bear. It would’ve been nice to have seen Becky in this episode. Fozzie’s upset about Becky breaking up with him as she argues he never takes her seriously at times. Kermit sees Fozzie upset and he persuades Miss Piggy to give him relationship some advice.

Whilst the relationship advice seems to work on Fozzie, Miss Piggy ends up being upset as she wonders whether it’s too late to rekindle her relationship with Kermit. I like how Kermit and Miss Piggy kind-of resolve things between each other here, but does it mean they will get back together?

Yolanda the Rat rigs the gift exchange in the Secret Santa between the Muppets, since she was displeased she wasn’t given a gift during last year’s Secret Santa. Thus she ends up having all the gifts in the Secret Santa. It was funny when that happened and when the Muppets realised about it.

Sam the Eagle also tries to get a kiss from Janice when he hangs up mistletoe in the office. It doesn’t work out as planned since Chip the IT guy interferes, but Janice does give Sam a peck on the cheek at the end which is nice. The band Echosmith appears in this too. Overall, an enjoyable festive episode!

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
