Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 8 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020’.
Milk? One lump or two? Sugar?
Yep! You guessed correctly! It’s a ‘Shada’ day today! Here’s Santa Cuddles next to the DVD containing the 2017 version of ‘Shada’ that stars Tom Baker and Lalla Ward as well as the 2003 Big Finish audio drama of ‘Shada’ that stars Paul McGann and Lalla Ward and the big ‘Shada’ book by Gareth Roberts.
As you can see, like Professor Chronotis, Cuddles is getting ready to enjoy a cup of tea in a TARDIS mug and some chocolate biscuits on a plate. But which version of ‘Shada’ to choose from though? The animated TV version on DVD, the Big Finish audio drama or the big book? It’s so hard to decide!
I love ‘Shada’ as a ‘Doctor Who’ story and it’s well conceived by Douglas Adams, who I’ve been inspired by to write fantastical adventures such as ‘The Space Hotel’, ‘The Austen Code’, ‘The Stockbridge Terror’ and ‘The Prime Factor’. There have been so many ‘Shada’s made over the years.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a comic book adaptation of ‘Shada’ was made. It’s amazing how ‘Shada’ has created a legacy since it was meant to be the last TV story of Season 17 in 1979, but was cancelled halfway through production due to industrial action. Thankfully, the legacy isn’t forgotten.
I hope Cuddles behaves himself whilst watching, hearing and reading ‘Shada’ as well as having a cup of tea in a TARDIS mug and a chocolate biscuit. The reason why Cuddles likes ‘Shada’ is because K-9’s in it. He agrees with me! John Leeson is better at voicing K-9 compared to how David Brierley does it. 😀
Cuddles: “My master couldn’t get any mince pies on that plate.”
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
