Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 15 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020.
One ring to rule them all!
Oh no! Santa Cuddles is in trouble! He’s obsessed with the One Ring like Gollum was in ‘The Lord of the Rings’! Here he is with the One Ring around his neck, sitting next to ‘The Hobbit’/’The Lord of the Rings’ Blu-ray box set. That includes the extended editions of the 6 films featured in the box set.
I have very fond memories of watching ‘The Return of the King’ at the cinemas in December 2003. They’re lovely Christmas memories as I saw the film more than once at cinemas. I enjoyed watching ‘The Hobbit’ movies over the Christmas periods of 2012, 2013 and 2014 as well, but it wasn’t the same.
‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ movies are pretty epic films. I would argue ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy is better than ‘The Hobbit’ film trilogy, but that’s because I have fonder memories of watching ‘LOTR’ than ‘The Hobbit’ films. Also the ‘LOTR’ films trilogy is justified than ‘The Hobbit’.
I don’t think ‘The Hobbit’ should’ve been three films based on one book, even though I understand the reasoning behind it from Peter Jackson and his creative team. With that said, I look forward to watching these films again and again. My Dad even enjoys watching them on his birthday at times. 😀
I hope to watch ‘The Hobbit’ and the ‘LOTR’ films again at some point during the Christmas season this year. I’ve got to stop Cuddles being obsessed with his ‘precious’ ring. I thought his obsessions were Nyssa, sausages and jelly babies. Will Cuddles be able to resist the power of the One Ring itself here? 😀
Cuddles: “Look at me! I’ve got the ring! My precious ring!”
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
