Day 22 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 22 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020.

It’s time to go ‘walking in the air’!

Two Christmas Specials I haven’t had the chance to talk about properly is ‘The Snowman’ from 1982 and ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ from 2012. Here’s a photo of Santa Cuddles with ‘The Snowman’ DVD and the Snowdog (Snowy as I call him) with ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ DVD. 🙂

I love watching ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ every Christmas. I have very fond childhood memories of watching ‘The Snowman’ from 1982 on TV every Christmas along with Raymond Briggs’ ‘Father Christmas’ film from 1991. I prefer ‘The Snowman’ over ‘Father Christmas’.

‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ is something that was released recently in 2012 to celebrate the ‘The Snowman’s 30th anniversary. Because of my love for my cuddly toy dog Cuddles, it gives me warmth to watch ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’, echoing the familiar spirit from ‘The Snowman’.

Both are silent shorts compared to the 1991 ‘Father Christmas’ film, which has the main character talking, voiced by Mel Smith. I love the music featured in the films. Howard Blake’s music is in ‘The Snowman’ whilst Ilan Eshkeri and Andy Burrows provided for ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ film.

I would love to review ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ properly someday for my blog in one of my future Christmas review seasons. Whether it’ll be for 2021 or 2022, I can’t say. Either way, I look forward to watching ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ again. 🙂

Cuddles: “Snuggles and Buggles like Snowy in ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’ too.”

Thanks for reading!

Check out what Day 22 of my ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendars for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 were about!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
