Day 24 – ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Day 24 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2020.

And it’s the last day of my blog’s advent calendar this year! Let’s talk about something that can easily be watched over Christmas time!

Santa Cuddles is with two DVD sets of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’. The first one is a BBC collector’s edition of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ TV series from 1988 to 1990. The second is collector’s extended edition of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ Disney film from 2005. 🙂

‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ is one of the best and well-loved books by C.S. Lewis in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ series. Many would read the book and/or see its film and TV adaptations at Christmas time. I had the BBC’s ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ on DVD in December 2003. 🙂

That was when I was in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ mode, enjoying ‘The Return of the King’ at cinemas at the time. Two years later, I saw Disney’s ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ movie at cinemas in 2005. I loved watching it at the time and I later got to read ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ books after that.

I’m saddened not all the seven ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ books have been adapted been adapted into a TV series or a film series yet, but I still hold fond nostalgic memories of the versions made by the BBC and Disney. The stories have some very good strong Christian messages in them, which is why I like them.

They may be children’s stories, but ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ have some profound messages of love and goodness, exemplified in the character of Aslan the Great Lion. I don’t know if I’ll see ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ on Christmas Eve, but the film and TV versions are very good to watch.

Cuddles: “Everyone will want me for Christmas now that my advent calendar’s finished!”

Thanks for reading!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
