Week 1 – ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ UPDATED

the keeper of traken

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for 2020. This year hasn’t been kind to us with the Covid-19 pandemic going on – please keep safe. But that won’t stop me sharing my thoughts and feelings about the latest Nyssa ‘Doctor Who’ stories I’ve seen, read and heard recently. This review season will take place from the Christmas period of 2020 leading into the New Year of 2021. Most of the stories reviewed will be short story collections and Big Finish audios.

Let’s start off by revisiting Nyssa’s debut story ‘The Keeper of Traken’. My review on the TV story was updated most significantly in May 2019 as part of my updated Blu-ray reviews on Season 18 of ‘Doctor Who’. Today, as well as including my review on the TV story and my review on the WHO Girls Calendar of 2013, I’ve also updated my review on the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who and the Keeper of Traken’ by Terrance Dicks with a new audiobook read by Geoffrey Beevers.

Please feel free to check out; read and comment on my reviews for ‘The Keeper of Traken’. You can purchase ‘The Keeper of Traken’ TV story either in the ‘New Beginnings’ DVD box set or in the ‘Doctor Who – The Collection – Season 18’ Blu-ray box set either from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. You can also purchase the ‘Doctor Who and the Keeper of Traken’ audiobook as a CD or as a download either from Amazon.co.uk; Amazon.com or Audible.co.uk.

Enjoy! 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for my review on ‘The Dark River’ featured in ‘The Target Storybook’ of ‘Doctor Who’, featuring Adric and Nyssa.

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
